I was looking up the last times the Chiefs allowed 7 or fewer points (like they did this week) and as you would expect, almost all of them were wins, but then I saw L L L and all in 1988 and I was like hold up hold up hold up.
In the Super Bowl era, NFL teams are an unsurprising 2797-68 when allowing 7 or fewer points in a game. Except for the 1988 Chiefs.
They went an almost-impossible 0-3 in those games, losing 3-6 vs Cleveland, 6-7 at Houston, and 6-7 vs Detroit.
Only 3 other teams even lost 2 such games in a season.
It's too bad that Clyde couldn't complete his comeback with the Chiefs. After listening to his heartwrenching story on The Pivot about his PTSD, I was really rooting for him. Hope he catches on with somebody!
