Whenever I see the amount being spent on military in this country, it becomes more and more obvious that the people in charge are just choosing not to end homelessness and hunger

Btw, if you are following the Anthropic debacle, and Minnesota is fresh in your mind, consider the limits your government was not willing to budge on, according to the Anthropic CEO: www.anthropic.com/news/stateme...

White House, Minnesota Supreme Court chief justice quietly negotiated deal over ICE enforcement in courts Four days later, chaos unfolded inside the Hennepin County Government Center.

This is disturbing. The Chief Justice of the MN Supreme Ct met with Homan, worked out an agreement, and never announced it publicly. ICE appeared to violate it days later by violently tackling a person in the Gov Center w/out a judicial warrant. We need transparency.

Today we are launching a new intitative of Stand With Minnesota—KeepMNHoused.com, a rent-relief campaign backed with a $1.5 matching fund from the Wilson Foundation.

Thousands of MN families are at risk of eviction because of the ICE occupation’s lasting impacts. We can keep them housed.

Video of the ICE-kidnapping victim under a sheet. You will also hear the officer say he saw them moving. I am inclined to believe the person was alive.

I hope Dems begin to see that moderate or progressive, AIPAC is not our friend.

They endorse January 6th insurrectionists. Yet if you so much as suggest the US uphold its own Leahy laws, no matter your record, they will work against you.

U.S. Senator Tina Smith Endorses Peggy Flanagan for U.S. Senate
Progressive Champion Tina Smith Chooses Flanagan to Carry Her Fight Forward Representing Minnesota

ST. LOUIS PARK, MN [02/02/26]—Today, Peggy Flanagan’s campaign announced the endorsement of U.S. Senator Tina Smith (D-Minn.), a proven progressive leader, a champion for working people, and a senator who has fiercely stood up to Donald Trump and Republicans.

With both Senator Smith and Al Franken’s endorsements, Flanagan has now earned the support of the senators who have represented Minnesota in this seat for the past 17 years. Senator Smith’s support adds significant momentum to Flanagan’s campaign as Minnesota voters head to precinct caucuses tomorrow and begin the process of choosing the Democratic nominee for her open Senate seat.

“I’ve looked up to Senator Smith for a long time. Minnesota has been so well served by her leadership,” said Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan. “Tina is an unapologetic progressive champion for working people who has delivered real results for Minnesotans all across the state. I’ve learned so much from her over the years and I would be deeply honored to carry her work forward in the United States Senate.”

Senator Smith has long been a force for progressive change, fighting to protect reproductive freedom, expand access to health care, champion economic opportunity, and to take on a system that’s been rigged for the rich and well-connected at the expense of working families for far too long. Her leadership on these issues has earned her deep trust among Minnesota voters and made her a respected force in the U.S. Senate. Senator Smith is also a proud member of the Senate’s “Fight Club” – a group of progressive senators who have come together to challenge the status quo and push the Democratic Party to fight harder for working people. She joins fellow Fight Club members Senators Chris Van Hollen, Chris Murphy, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Ed Markey, Jeff Merkley, and Martin Heinrich in backing Flanagan for U.S. Senate.

“I’ve worked as an organizer, at City Hall, as Lieutenant Governor, and as United States Senator. I know what this job takes, especially in this perilous moment,” said Senator Tina Smith. “We need leaders who have the courage to take bold action, challenge the status quo and fight for people, so they can be safe and afford their lives. That’s why I’m endorsing my friend Peggy Flanagan for United States Senate. Peggy has delivered for Minnesota, and she’s always stood strong for all of us. I’m proud to endorse Peggy and am ready to work as hard as I can to make sure Minnesota sends another progressive fighter to the U.S. Senate.”

I support cleaning house at DHS.

Greg Bovino should be fired.
Kristi Noem should be fired.
Stephen Miller should be fired.

But none of those things alone will fix ICE – a new figure will take their place, and nothing will change unless Congress exerts some muscle here.

Walz: "To Americans who are watching this, I've got a question for you: What side do you want to be on? The side of an all powerful federal govt that can kill, injury, menace, & kidnap its citizens off the streets? Or on the side of a nurse at the VA hospital who died bearing witness to such govt?"

The Senate is set to vote on DHS funding next week and Republicans can’t pass it without Democratic support.

This is the time for Senate Dems to hold the line and withhold funding from this lawless agency.

Enough is enough. Shut DHS down.

There has been an increasing sense in Minneapolis that we are on our own, that our elected representatives are unwilling and/or unable to take action to get these murderous Nazi thugs out of our community. I really hope that changes today. The time for pleading TV hits ended weeks ago.
