The difference between the various kinds
consists in the time they take to ripen-the early kind ripens in 60 days-and also in their size.
Ulpicum also comes in this class, the plant called by the Greeks Cyprian garlic, or by others antiscorodon; it holds a high rank among the dishes of the country people, particularly in Africa, and it is larger than garlic; when beaten up in oil and vinegar it swells up in foam to a surprising size.

pliny the elder DID mention aioli in his historia naturalis! i found the quote!!! his contemporary columella also mentions beating garlic and oil with a pestle but suggests administering it via nostril to those afflicted with tongue distemper, so im discounting that. for ONCE a primary source!!!!

That no one in he Republican leadership -- and none of his GOP colleagues -- have found the voice to condemn this utter trash says everything about them.

β€˜Happy (and safe) shooting!’: chatbots helped researchers plot deadly attacks Users posing as would-be school shooters find AI tools offer detailed advice on how to perpetrate violence

every day the AI grifters and enthusiasts insist that AI is inevitable and that tech is inherently neutral, the Venn diagram with the "guns don't kill people, people kill people" crowd gets closer to a circle

The thing about Mark Kelly and his ilk is that they’re really good at jumping through all the hoops necessary to become a fighter pilot or an astronaut, but I’m not sure being the best hoop-jumper makes you a good senator or president.

Wasn’t it Amory Lovins who came up with a plan during the Carter administration to fix gas at $3/gal and float the tax to adjust for market fluctuations? Wasn’t a bad idea; not sure it would have worked.

Live Nation Settlement Spurs Chaos in Court - The American Prospect The deal contains a fairly useless set of conditions. More than two dozen states vow to continue fighting.

It's a *little* thing, in the grand scheme of everything that's going on. But it's a very telling little thing.

I saw this ad on LinkedIn. And I want to say that, hiring a local photographer -- @paintedfoot.bsky.social -- for my author headshots was wonderful for so many reasons. Collaborating with Cat during and after the shoot. The good feeling of hiring a a local artist. To outsource that to AI is sad.

Sure, maybe you feel some personal shame about it, maybe you're crying in a stall at Butterworth's on a regular basis, but something about his possibly-appreciative smirk, if you look at it in just the right light, when he sees you trip over a garish rug in the Oval Office, feels SO good.

I mean, who among us hasn't worn an ill-fitting garment to appease the mercurial temper of a boss who is using us to destroy the very institutions that elevated our entire nation to the lofty status we've all benefited from, and maybe, just maybe, gotten a bit of sexual pleasure from it?

If a former US Senator turned cabinet member, one of the world's most powerful people, upon whose very whim rests the fate of millions, needs to indulge in a bit of weird role-play to burn off the built-up steam of his incredibly high-pressure job, who are we to judge?

I'm sorry, but writing articles about Rubio debasing himself for Trump is officially kink-shaming at this point.
