Imagine being my age (60) and feeling that same optimism in late 1989 when the Berlin Wall fell. The falloff over the past 36 years is hard to process. π

If only that could have been predicted before starting the war π
βCanada would be wise to break with U.S. foreign policy. Jean ChrΓ©tien did that with the war in Iraq, and we were commended for it. Canada is known for diplomacy, and we take pride in having invented peacekeeping. We neither negotiate with nor support terrorists, even if they live next door.β
Yes, and that's the "Roy Cohn Doctrine" at work. Never admit you were wrong.
Say, "nuclear non-proliferation" 5 time fast! π
YT thumbnail. An image of the Shah next to an image of a map of iran with an atom symbol superimposed "Iran Nuclear Program: The Cold War"
Are you, or is anybody you know, potentially interested in learning WHY Iran has a nuclear program in the first place? Are you curious as to how the developed it and if they had help in doing so?
Have i got the video for you... youtu.be/ZrNNeS31lNg
Both of whom have kompromat (what's the Hebrew version of that?) on Drumpf.
From Duke's Wikipedia entry: "Duke died at the age of 79, from being struck by a car while rollerblading". π
We went to Cuba for the first time in 2005 & took a trip from Varadero to Havana. On the ride back I had a great chat with the tour guide and it was obvious how much Cubans valued their independence, first from Spain and then from the US.

"Friends" is a beloved American sitcom that aired from 1994 to 2004, following six young adultsβRachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebeβliving in New York City. The show explores their friendships, romances, careers, and personal growth over ten seasons.
Clearly this was a case of fowl play.
I'll see myself out......
As Sean Connery would have said, "That was very shellfish of him!"
That's some solid advice right there! π
I never said the penalties were effective, did I? I was using them to point out that the provinces were ignoring the "explicit indicators" for the transfer payments that you touted as a way to ensure that federal funding is used properly.
And I'm ending the debate with you here.
Nine of the ten provinces have been penalized for breaches of the Canada Health Act over the last decade. Of those 9, you have QuΓ©bec, BC and Newfoundland that aren't PC or UCP.
Conservative provincial governments are actively running public health care into the ground so that they can say that it doesn't work. That allows them to justify private health care for those who can afford it. It's a coordinated effort, not a fluke.
Perspective is funny. I lived just outside of Ottawa, Ontario at the time and don't remember that storm specifically. When I looked at the historical weather for the day, there certainly was a good storm, but it wasn't much different than most other storms we got in a typical winter. I was 12 then.
Yeah, but with today's gas prices.....
ICYMI, there are still spots available in this great course!
Canβt unsee!!! π
Sigh. McDavid did that βone on threeβ twice and Binnington saved his arse on the first one. Oh well, great game otherwise. On to 2030!
Iβm Canadian. It got me too.
As always, just follow the money π
