It's def darker than the anime and I am still here for it.
Aoi's grandpa is a straight up scoundrel in the manga. In the anime, I felt like he was portrayed more as a rascal and/or cheeky man.
Ōdanna also seems to be more... Harsh.

I am in love with the Mead Mishaps series.
If an author could be my spirit animal it may be Kimberly Lemming. I enjoyed her writing style and bluntness. The language is modern. I mean, the 2nd book is called That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf.

Frieren was a really slow burn for me until she got to a certain city where all of a sudden shit gets serious.
It seems like people drop off before that because of the slow pace. Also, how it's not chronological in its story telling. I love that in shows because it keeps me on my toes.

Maybe there's too much foreshadowing for me to 👀? Anyway, something's lacking for me and I can't quite put my finger on it. If things don't pick up for me during OS I'm done.

I lied I'm rooting for Tairn. He's sassy, and always gets a chuckle out of me. He's the reason I'm reading at this point.

I finished Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. I'm on a wait-list for Onyx Storm.
I'm not really vibing with the series. I'm intrigued by the world, and that's pretty much it. There are no characters I'm rooting for. The 👀 scenes are more like "huh, alright" for me.

Reading update!

I finished House of Flame and Shadow.
The conclusion was solid, and would have been a good way to end the series. Alas, there's a 4th on the way. I'm not excited for it.
She could have also not started the series and left House of Earth and Blood as a single. So... Who knows!

Sarah J Maas is... Not a great writer. BUT she's created a really interesting world and fantastic characters. So I'm enduring. She is great at writing smut scenes tho.
