Boom! Had a great ight show over the skyline tonight. Hereβs my first big lightning shot of the season.
This is a 2-frame composite. Best as I can tell, two large, branching bolts struck the eastern antenna mast of the Hancock. #wxsky #ilwx

I'd still love to see some detailed results, but this seems feasible and wonderful news.
If this holds, about a 14% shift left in that district.

I've stopped believing there are good reasons for many of the political outcomes we see. π
I hope the seat flips. But I also don't generally do predictions so much as report data.
Also, Wolfeboro is a machine count town, best I can tell. In my ward we'd have unofficial results posted within ~15 minutes of polls closing. It has been 2 hours now and I'm tired.
First reported results in NH Carroll County 7 show the R winning Ossipee by 5%, compared to 26% in 2024.
Wolfeboro is typically way more voters and was just 6 points in favor of the (R) back then, so it seems very much still in play. Turnout will, of course, also be a factor.

Sun Tzu (D-NY) - βWhen your enemy is making a mistake, fix it for him at great cost to yourself.β
And I may be mistaken; it may have been solutions architect. Something like that, though.
More of a software implementation engineer for a value-added reseller. I didn't write software, at least not as part of my main role.
That was my title for a few years in the mod-aughts.
That's just for the VWP, right?

Aerial view of the station showing that the building on fire is closer to the concourse and shops than the actual infrastructure
If youβre unfamiliar with Glasgow Central, hereβs an aerial shot. The red circles dome has just collapsed- that building is the heart of the fire. The red dashed line is roughly where the train lines start. So the good news is hopefully the bulk of rail structures are not currently in danger.
Reddit screenshot from Glasgow thread. Bright flames rising out the side of a Victorian building.
Video screenshot from Reddit. Building is now a shell with flames visible in every window.
The roof has collapsed embers rise into the night sky.
The fire at Glasgow central station is utterly devastating. Shops, homes and our transport link to England are being wiped out.
I am amazed by the limited news coverage.
Feels like 1930s France
Crate&Barrelβs marketing team really didnβt think this one thru huh
It was a double-tap strike. They definitely meant to hit that building. Whether they knew what it housed is a different question. But it seems highly unlikely they missed twice in the same way.
hey internet, do your thing. i'm looking to chat with a PNW based bird expert who knows things about crows. i have a crow connundrum and i need advice.
The correct answer is that we should all stay on UTC all year long.
A green swathe of northern lights across the top half of the photo, with some moonlit clouds below. There is a pointy mountain visible and some of the green is reflected in windblown water below.
Finally got to see northern lights in the early hours of this morning. I always wake up in the night, & occasionally check out the window. There was some green light (visible with the phone) so I got dressed & went out! A bit cloudy (& very windy), & the cloud grew, but nice to see them :)

Now more than ever Iβm convinced losing Anthony Bourdain meant we lost probably the biggest person on tv who advocated for the wonders of meeting new people and calling anyone online who hated learning new cultures the children they were, ruthlessly to the camera.
