Ok, done for the night. I put in 2 good hours & took care of 2 of the reviewers' suggestions. I probably won't get back to this til the weekend, but now I've got one small-ish change to make and then reorganizing the intro and making bigger claims in the thesis. That's daunting but manageable!
I am at the I-want-to-eat dinner stage of late-afternoon revising. My brain is petering out - but I don't get to figure out what I'm going to eat & quit for the day until I have this section sewed up. I'm feeling close, though!
Also I really want to ask reviewer #3: do you like this paragraph better now that I've revised? Or should I just cut it? This is the challenge of not having an R&R but a we'll publish this once you decide whether you want to incorporate these suggestions. They're all good! Must get a friend to read.
... I have created a little "workdoc" folder as I do when I'm working hard on a part of a paper. I took out the 5 pages I need to reorg, and am working on them on their own. I'll probably cycle through 8-9 versions of them (workdoc A, workdoc B, etc.) and then repaste in the original.
I sent an accountability message to my thesis-writers telling them I'm in the thick of it. We're doing peer review next week so I'm explaining how hard it can be to reorganize in response to feedback, but how I'm going to take it one suggestion at a time instead of getting overwhelmed. Also/
I wish I knew who my reviewers were! I want to steal a sentence from one of the suggestions one gave me ("couldn't it be '___'?") and it would be nice to be able to ask first!
I'm going to switch to an easier piece than the intro. One reviewer said the answer to the question I pose on page X is really answered on page X+3. So I'm trying to bring up big blocks of text & then smooth out. That idea is better than readers not being convinced! But it's an organization puzzle.

Back on task #AmRevising after schoolwork & taking a wee nap. It's hard to go back in & blow up a draft that the reviewers *liked* & would be willing for me to keep as is! But their suggestions ("if I want") are good - so I've blown it up & am trying to piece together. New 🔥 intro - maybe?
