I guess ‘plenty of queers’ is all relative. But it’s true it’s easy to forget suburban queers exist when the eastern suburbs of Sydney likes to pretend it’s the only queer neighbourhood in the city.

Remembering there was a thread on Reddit about some white queers being concerned about moving to Campsie because they thought it wasn’t queer friendly. It’s true there is a decent cohort there who don’t understand or approve of queerness, but also nobody cares enough to harass anybody about it.
I suppose commuting isn’t so bad tho participating could get a little awkward.

Campsie is like 30% cheaper for equivalent properties than Dulwich Hill for reasons I can’t fathom except for demographic mix (there are more poor non-white people in Campsie).
Yeah, there’s often a weird white saviourship complex with these types and they often underestimate the importance of connecting the children to their birth cultures.
