Have Marks and Spencer up their game on men’s wear or am I officially old now?

Liking some of the clobber they are selling.

Some nice items in River Island but H&M was poor.

Not my usual shops, but these are all walking distance from home and the weather was gorgeous.

And so we write to brilliant postgraduate students from Sudan, withdrawing the offers and scholarships they won in open competition with the best in the world. A sad day for the University of Oxford.

β€œNever once did Reform promise to cut council tax” insists an angry Nigel Farage to Sky News.

Here's some of the leaflets Reform have been putting out ahead of the local elections

on May 01, 2003, George W Bush gave a "Mission Accomplished" speech on an aircraft carrier:

"Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed"

the actual Iraq war ended in 2011

This is violent, sickening rhetoric.

GB News commentator claiming here that non β€œindigenous” people are committing β€œgenocide” against the UK.

GB News is beyond the fucking pale

Nigel Farage takes significant stake in Kwasi Kwarteng’s Bitcoin company Farage’s investment in crypto company Stack, headed by executive chairman Kwasi Kwarteng, comes after Labour asked the Electoral Commission to investigate crypto donations to Reform UK

So, as people stuggle with their mortgages and bills, Farage invests Β£215,000 in Kwasi Kwarteng’s crypto business.

And plans to deregulate that high-risk industry by removing our rights and consumer protections.
He’s laughing at voters. All the way to the bank.

How on earth can we continue with a World Cup hosted by a nation that is at war with other parts of the world?

β€œHe is, of course, a serial liar & prone to espousing completely contradictory positions within moments of each other.” It is extraordinary to me that journalists continue to β€˜analyse’ Donald Trump without adding this constant caveat. It does readers, listeners & viewers a grave disservice.

Strange. You'd think that the British people would be persuaded by such compelling arguments as 'we don't have a plan for regime change but a friend of a friend does' or 'Keir Starmer smells!'

It took Trump 10 days to create an energy crisis reminiscent of the 1970s, replace Ayatollah Khamenei with Ayatollah Khamenei, and weaken our alliances worldwide. He put American servicemembers in harm’s way, resulting in seven deaths. None of this made you safer or better off.

Very interesting how out of line the r/w media are on this, given their pretensions to know their readers. I was struck by responses to a very gung-ho piece in the Mail over the weekend where, at a rough guess, 75% or so of them were very resistant to the article's line.

during the oil/gas crisis caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraime it was striking how some right-wingers tried to gaslight the public into believing the *biggest* problem with their soaring bills (at the time) was green levies rather than the oil/gas price going through the roof
