It didnβt occur to me that all those concerts I went to were actually terrorist organization meetings

Artist, illustrator, teacher, storyteller. I used to think I was interesting then I realized I was just an old dude telling the same stories all the time. He, him. Currently living in Shawnee, Cherokee territory.
It didnβt occur to me that all those concerts I went to were actually terrorist organization meetings
Yeah, Dave loved some ugly design and, um, crazy pattern and color mixing.
The cover of an album by the slide guitar/guitar/banjo/mandolin/bouzouki/oud/zither/basically any string instrument player, David Lindley entitled Mr. Dave. It shows Dave in his inimitable style of white patent leather loafers, jaguar print trousers, a long-sleeved shirt with a paint splotch pattern and a pair of graduated shades. His long, lanky hair hangs down while he tilts his head smiling. Next to this is an inset head snd shoulders photo of him in the same shirt and a jacket making a sort of L gesture while giving a wry but wisdom-filled look at the viewer.
An album cover showing a musical notation sheet with a naive style cartoon on panels on it. Along the top is text: See inside for βJamming with Edward!β Below that is the title The Edward with a man wearing glasses and a red vest, green tie, blue shirt and blue jacket in profile. Below that are three panels. From left to right, the first panel show the same man head and shoulders looking at the viewer with the text above his head: Edward and the Sunny Smile. The next panel shows the same man smiling. The last panel show him with a very large smile. Below these panels are two final panels. On the left, a full body view, the smile is now super open like a zipper. On the right, the top of his head has unzipped and fallen onto the floor. Along the right of the album are the names: Mick Hopkins, Ry Cooder, Mick Jagger, Bill Wyman, and Charlie Watts.
Scored a couple of $4 finds at the thrift store. Both in surprisingly great shape.
A pencil sketch of three small monkeys playing musical instruments. In the foreground left the monkey looks directly at viewer appearing to sing while playing an acoustic guitar. On the right and just behind is the bass player wearing a tshirt with the anarchy symbol on it. This monkey is also singing and staring at the viewer. In the center and far behind is the drummer behind a drum set looking off into space as it keeps the beat
Actually had a chance to a bit of Visual Passageβs Drawing Hive. [Lived group drawing from reference pics.] This week was these monkeys who, to me, look like theyβre singing.
H.R. 7661 would harm so many publishers, authors, and readers. Only the smallest sliver of human experience would make it onto shelves. If you think kids deserve the world, you are against this bill - please read this article and call your reps.
A tuxedo cat sits on its haunches reclining on a puffy armchair, itβs legs draped casually on the armrest. It stares directly into the camera a languid, indulgent look upon its face.
And what is it you seek of your king?
A pencil sketch of frogs falling from the sky, their legs outstretched, bodies at different angles with an umbrella and a person looking up aghast from beneath another umbrella await them (the frogs) below.
Raining frogs (iβve got frogs on the brain it seems)
A tiny sketch of a toadβs head and neck wearing a wing-collared shirt and a bowtie with a fancy cigarette holder sticking out of its mouth. Sketched while trying to focus on my teacherβs discussion of the Finnish plu-perfect.
No really Iβm paying attention in class
Only in Kentucky would βgifts from the godsβ be chunks of mysterious meat

Itβs fun being in a place where my blue hair is umremarkable
Pencil sketches of a Fowlerβs toad and an American toad seen from above and to the side. The Fowlerβs toad is very tired of being stared at and all me. The American toad looks surprised.
A pair of pencil sketches in a small sketchbook of a Green frog and a Northern Leopard frog. They are both seen from above and slightly to the side and are looking to the left.
A few frog/toad sketches to warm up today
A small pencil sketch of a fallen tree extending out over a reservoir. Most of its bark is missing and the wood has been weathered grey by the sun.
Like a dog, Iβm easily distracted by a stick
If you have not read Persepolis you should, it is an extremely powerful graphic novel thats available for free on the Internet Archive: archive.org/details/pers... Though I would also highly reccomend supporting Marjane directly and purchasing it as well.

HR 7661 is almost the same as the Hungarian laws that declared being asexual a "sexual propaganda" and "gender ideology" crime.
Except our police refuses to play KGB. I doubt US police won't play KGB is allowed.
"Artists peak at 30", "30 under 30", "by 30 you should" ridiculous. Arts industries capital craves young people to exploit and burn out. It doesn't want older artists thriving and guiding the young. It also doesn't want artists to exist. Stop letting cannibals tell you you only matter on a plate.
The tiny fuzzy head of a two day-old tuxedo kitten pokes out from the crook of an arm. His eyes are closed. The head is mostly black with a white triangular patch between the eyes that leads to an all-white snout. In the center of the snout is tiny, pink nose.
Happy 2nd birthday Scampus!
Two cats sit atop scratch towers facing each other. In the foreground we see from behind a black cat. Facing him and us, lying on his side is a tuxedo cat with his left paw raised in anticipation of striking out at the head of the black cat. The tuxedo catβs face shows no malice or anger, just a slightly bored, trying to start something neutrality.
Here comes the boop

The thing that bothers me is that people are still reading paperbacks. The publishers donβt want to make the change they get from the mass market books. They hit on the prestige format (originally only for hot properties like Stephen King and Anne Rice) and now all paperbacks must cost a fortune.
One more bit of pointless meanness especially combined with the news out of publishing:

A Muppet for All Seasons
Manchurian Muppet
2001: A Muppet Odyssey
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Muppet

A small American Robin stands on a concrete walk, its head turned so it stares directly at the viewer. An American Robin is a medium-sized plump songbird with a round deep rust orange (similar to burnt sienna) with dark grey hood and wings and a yellow to tan beak.
For 35 minutes this little dude has been standing in the same spot staring at the door and Iβn beginning to think this is some sort of omen
In the teacherβs VW Rabbit with two other students in the back I was asked to parallel park behind an enormous 1974 Thunderbird. Up to then. I was the only one who had successfully parallel larked. And then I took the back bumper fully off that Tbird.
