I think about this quote from All The Presidents Men constantly- “The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand”.

Taco is an increasingly unhelpful way of looking at the Trump administration open.substack.com/pub/iandunt/...
Same. Every time I go out the door and see hundreds (it is a big primary school) of kids playing and singing and jumping around, I think oh look at the nuclear reactor.
There is no conscionable reason why those who ordered this strike, on this intelligence, are not indicted on war crimes.
Hegseth's fragile masculinity has doomed the US inews.co.uk/opinion/hegs...
Interesting. He would be my only choice.
I don't think that is true. Like who on the front bench on either side of the House?
Please try not to be patronising. It is really annoying and belittles you.
It was a joke about Boris Johnson. I am sorry that you didn't get it. But no need to be rude.
Agree!
How did having a blobby, popular PM who did more U turns than me following a Sat Nav work out for us last tine?
Worse than bombing and murdering girls at primary school by mistake?
Good point. But surely we would know by now? Seems as if details of everyone of importance in them has been released - apart from the main man obviously.
Good that we can all have our opinions.
Big fan of lettuce.
Sucking up?? Gosh. I'm excited that KS reads my random posts.
Made my day.
Just my opinion. If KS stood down as ZP demands, who would you suggest led the Government until a GE?
No fan of KS but think he is the best politican with sufficient gravitas and capability in international affairs for the time being. PM is a lowlife who should never have been appointed (hope he goes to prison) but we all know why a lowlife was selected as our rep to US.
Thank you. Would never have seen this otherwise.
What a wonderful 18 minutes.
Straw poll might differ.
What a wonderful story. Hope in these worrying times. Thank you.
In this current harsh world, let's warm a few hearts remembering the events of 7-8 March 1991, when the 90,000 people of Brindisi woke up to find 25,000 Albanians roaming the streets of their town. For perspective, that's roughly equivalent to 25k people suddenly landing in Hastings [Thread] >> 1
I may have my frustrations and disappointments about Starmer as a domestic politician, but internationally, I think he’s serious, responsible and trying to do his best for U.K. in unbelievably complex int’l environment, despite treasonous ghouls like Farage doing their best to undermine him.
The glibness. The indifference. The carelessness. The utter lack of planning for a war against a country of 90M. The sickness of a man who acts on whim that will kill thousands not hundreds. The horror of a regime that enables this sickness. The broken body politic that votes in such malignancy.
"And. if Goodwin truly believes Britair is carved up into irreconcilable sectarian blocs, he should explain how the very voters he derides as Islamists packed a white, working-class woman standing for a party led nationally by Zack Polanski - a Jewish man - in such numbers. That is not the behaviour of a society locked into tribal warfare. but a constituency rejecting the right's attempts to contort multicultural Britain into a series of warring demographics. Voters have refused the invitation to see their neighbours as enemies. It looks. in other words, like a healthy democracy." Zoe Grunewald

Respectfully also, do you not find it odd that a by election with a certain ethnic group is the first time this widely reported and front page news? Having been an election supervisor, all are trained to spot this in every community and polling station. It happens - we deal with it at the time.
Irrelevant who funds them. First time the majority of us have heard of rumoured election malpractice, it is unsubstantiated, intimates a certain demographic and is seized upon by those aiming for doubt and division. Need a better way to report issues than after the event.
Think Angela is correct. Not sure that Mainstream is though.
No guarantees (evidence from talk on the doorstep) Burnham would have won. And then Labour could have lost the Mayor role to Reform.
And that for all of us in Greater Manchester, would be an absolute disaster.
Wrong sort of "full" for them though.
Good luck with that.
Honestly, these people are crusading for the 1950's. They need a long look in the mirror. And then to get stuffed in the Polls.
a year is a long time in politics
Indeed.
