Oh god people trying to talk about Marathon's story without having at least looked at the story page for the original games is already too much,,,,,

And it'll never change. I'll always be this freakish masculine husk with no personality. Why haven't I worked up the strength to kill myself yet
The disgusting form I'm stuck in really does ruin everything. I can't do anything because all it takes is imagining my body actually going through those motions or the voice that isn't mine saying those words and suddenly I'm recoiling.
The last couple days have been such a haze. I feel like a corpse going through the absolute bare minimum to stay alive
It's so windy outside that it's setting off car alarms on my street lol
picking random brushes and seeing what happens
I always forget that my former boss shows up in a random scene in Twin Peaks: The Return and it's so funny every time I see it
I wish I were seen as attractive or desirable to anyone
God I really am just a husk
I think someone should put me in the reverse bear trap from Saw
+ MARATHON +
I hope Bungie puts Pathways into Darkness on Steam or GOG at some point
This gives away the whole game, as people have been warning for years and years. This is identity erasure of a whole class. the precedents for having documents revoked by groupβ¦are not good.
I love you person at Bungie who made the decision to use this specific font
It's really funny seeing people complain about Marathon's menus. Saying they're difficult to navigate and confusing, when the only problem I really have with them are that they're layed out too much like other modern multiplayer games and, if anything, aren't unique enough.
hop on deadlock bro
The World of Ultimate Gaming
So uh yeah that about sums up my thoughts.
I desperately wish this game had a traditional single player component
Also Bungie please let people play on Linux,,, I don't want to have to keep dual booting for this.
Now gameplay:
- The guns thankfully feel good to use
- PvE is fun! And more difficult than I was expecting.
- Fighting other players however, feels,,, not great. With higher tier shields it's probably different, but with just low tier stuff the ttk is too low
- Playing solo is miserable lol
Sorry, outside of a few elements like the scopes and ammo counters, they just look kinda dull and uninspired.
EVERYTHING ELSE THOUGH. PERFECT
Also this experience has assuaged any fears I had of them butchering the story and universe. I'm here for how this narrative will unfold. Completely sold
On a positive note, the art direction really is immaculate. Even better in person I think. Nearly every element of this game looks incredible and Bungie absolutely nailed what a Marathon reboot should look like,,, with the exception of most of the guns.
Alright time to spew my thoughts all over your timeline.
I hate having one of my favorite game series return as modern live-service slop so much. Obviously can't do anything about that but it really does suck and I'm still not over it.
First up, a big big classic...
Patlabor: Early Days - The Complete OVA Series!
The original Patlabor OVA series is coming back, subbed & dubbed!
It's here
I think it's time for big hair to make a comeback
LOL no way
It's not looking good for NuMarathon on Linux,,,, but I can still hope
Yoko Taro is cool and all but I really don't have any desire for more Evangelion no matter who's at the helm tbh
I was really hoping 3.0+1.0 would be the final big Evangelion thing,,, at least for a while lol
