Wondering why a nightly maintenance program didn't run last night -- only to notice it was scheduled to run at 2AM and there was no 2AM last night! #daylightsavingstime

Very sad to learn the passing of Robert Kaye, founder of MusicBrainz. Not only we he extremely smart, but he was one of the nicest and friendliest people in the music technology space. He will be greatly missed.

Thanks to shitty AI we are now inundated with lots of spam like this π
Today I released "Closer to Home", a compilation of dub ambient and slow dub techno tracks. The album was mastered by Leon BΓΆlting at @arclab_mastering on high end analog equipment. Thanks a lot to salt for the artwork photo. phelios.bandcamp.com/album/closer...

"...one more listener from Sweden :-) Mostly FolkForward or SpyLounge. Nice to find masterpieces which usually will not be broadcasted elsewhere." -- Robert
You can add our stream links as favorites to iTunes. Towards the bottom of each channel page there are stream links.
S1gns Of L1fe did this great introduction and review of my modules. He's such a wonderful ambient music artist and gracefully weaves the modules into play, while creating a song.

"Drone Zone is my near constant work companion. I've always loved atmospheric and ambient music, and I love nearly everything you play. For variety, I go to Deep Space One and when in a rowdier mood Underground 80's which makes me nostalgic for the New Wave band I was in during the 80s." -- Stephen
"Can't believe I never found this site before in all the time I've been online. Loving the genres here, they're definitely a lifeline getting me through university work right now! Thank you all!" -- Amelia

Great record store find in Strasbourg, France: "L'Occase de l'Oncle Tom"
Surprised at how many people were buying CDs, but they were mostly priced new from 7-8 Euros and had a great curated selection. Vinyl on the second floor as well, new and used.
Concerto is an awesome vinyl and more shop in Amsterdam. Highly recommended.
Album cover for "Hounds of Love" by Kate Bush, featuring a woman with long hair in a purple setting, accompanied by dogs.
FIVE KEY RECORDS: Kate Bush
βHounds Of Loveβ remains Bushβs biggest and arguably best record, featuring her most recognised hits while pushing the limits of pop experimentation.

This looks really cool for our Amsterdam friends:
Just what the world needs. More shitty music.
Sad to learn of the passing of Ray Lynch, whose early "genre-defying instrumental music" releases had a real impact on us. We'll be sprinkling some of his tracks around Deep Space One and Drone Zone.

"Love this place, especially Underground 80's (Huge Thomas Dolby, Depeche etc etc fan so it's great to hear some of those B sides) and Space Station Soma. (perfect for indoor turbo / cycle sessions and driving when the world is rushing by) Just donated" -- Dan
Some lovely floaty ambient here, #bandcampfriday and his 82-release discography is on sale for β¬55.50 today (considering that is about 4 CDs in the old days, this is a lot of listening for the price).

Tomorrow is once again #BandcampFriday, when Bandcamp waives their revenue share from all music sales & passes the funds directly to independent artists such as myself. So a great time to pick up the new album or any of my releases available on Bandcamp. Thanks!! π

Thatβs disappointing to read β how hard was it to keep an internet only stream available
Gonna pour one out for Catherine OβHara tonight.
β Deezer: 28% of all music delivered to streaming is now fully AI-generated β
They say there's over 100,00 new songs submitted every day. EVERY DAY!!! That's alot of AI slop dumped into streaming. Ugh, terrible junk.
Philip Glass is trending β and heβs not dead (relieved)
"Listening from Mexico. I owe this website literally my life, I am incredibly thankful for the Indie Rock station and how it made me lock in." -- snats
The public canβt have access to the data, only people pay tremendous amounts of money to data brokers can have it
US GOV radio systems are all encrypted. Local cops may or may not be encrypted. Apps like what you mention use Broadcastify on the back end, and they won't stream police tac channels (only dispatch in the clear)
So many people ask if we take crypto, and now that we do, (and told them we do), they never donate any. Sometimes feels like they say "I only use crypto" as an excuse to not spend money. Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
