Yikes! I’ve already run the AC periodically here in Oklahoma and we aren’t even at the Ides. Ugh.

I’ve dealt with government tough guy types my entire career. However, this is beyond the pale. What a wimp.

Scientists can do a lot to help stop this problem. Only publish in high-quality journals. Only cite studies from high-quality journals. Do not engage with journals from predatory publishers like MDPI.

If that’s too restrictive for you, then the quality of your science is the problem.

Some exciting news to share: very soon, NOAA Research will be hiring new federal employees into science positions across the agency! A couple of notes:

1) They will only be open on USAJobs for seven days.
2) Multiple positions at different sites may be in one posting.

Happy Meteorological Spring* to all who celebrate.

*I don’t know what the last 3 months was, but it wasn’t winter. Even accounting for the single interruption of snow in Oklahoma.
