Today would have my mom's 80th birthday. I'll celebrate by Marie Kondo-ing her house, making her husband a nice dinner, and listening to songs from Harold & Maude. She was a good mom and a wonderful friend (all her friends are texting me).

That gas station was so janky I almost died 3x-- one guy filling his tank while smoking, one guy doing donuts right by the pumps, and the auto stop not working on the filler--glad I was paying attention or I would have spilled gas. Road trip with old friends this weekend.

Very much enjoyed John Oliver talking about archives/presidential libraries, even though he did make a tired joke about what an archivist "vibe" is. I think he could have made a better joke about how badass we are, and still have made the LBJ's nuts joke.

It doesn't matter if we believe this can make a difference... if we've lost hope for our future, I still want to spend time with people who care about the same stuff I care about, whether human rights or Our Flag Means Death or perfect kettle corn
