The Trump administration could really restore confidence by getting the entire Cabinet to ride a tanker through the Straits of Hormuz to show everyone how safe and easy it is now.

They could bring along a lot of MAGA influencers and Fox News hosts to broadcast it all live!

Senate Republicans just BLOCKED the bill @padilla.senate.gov and I called up to reopen FEMA today.

Then they demanded we vote to give billions more ICE and CBP, without any reforms. None. 🧡

How much money would Pittsburgh get if its big nonprofits paid taxes? If the region’s five largest nonprofits had to pay taxes, they would together annually contribute about $133 million to Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and Pittsburgh Public Schools, according to the Keystone Research Center. The Harrisburg-based research center this week released a report detailing how much the taxing bodies would rake in

We caught up with Tyson this weekend, the dog who came to us after someone poured boiling water over him.

When we told Tyson’s story, we said there was another dog who had experienced the same.

This is her, Maya

AS PENNSYLVANIA TREASURER, Stacy Garrity has invested $45 million in taxpayer funds into Israel Bonds since 2023. But when she recently attended a β€œthank you” gala hosted by the firm behind the bonds, she decided to do so as a Republican candidate for governor.

It’s unclear when the gala took place β€” neither the organizers nor Garrity’s campaign would say. But her campaign finance records show a $450 payment was made in June 2025 to Israel Bonds. That’s the colloquial name for the Development Corporation for Israel, a for-profit organization that floats debt with proceeds going to the Israeli government.

Nathan Miller, a spokesperson for the group, said in a statement that β€œthe event that Treasurer Garrity attended was billed as a β€˜Thank You Event’ and the invitees were investors in Israel bonds in Pennsylvania.” He did not respond to follow-up questions.

Matt Beynon, Garrity’s campaign spokesperson, told Access Harrisburg that she β€œbelieved that the Israel Bonds event crossed the line beyond her official capacity as Treasurer and into the political, so she decided to pay for her ticket from her campaign funds because she did not believe taxpayer dollars should be used for those purposes.”

SOUNDS CLEAN CUT, RIGHT? β€œIt's positive she had this self-reflective moment,” said Davina Hurt, a former local government official who now serves as the director of the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University.

But the unknowns β€” such as who Garrity knew in the room, why she decided to treat the event as political, and the timeline of her decision β€” had Hurt asking more questions.

β€œYou want to be in every room to see everybody, but when you arrive to this role, you need to be very thoughtful about what rooms you sit in and how you separate the individual from the public benefit,” Hurt said.

Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity put $45 million in taxpayer money into Israel Bonds. The firm invited her to a thank you gala with other investors, but she attended for political purposes. She paid for the event with campaign funds; still, ethics experts have questions.

"Look, man. We didn't know anything about anything. We cut and pasted Trump's Executive Order into ChatGPT, and then fed it the database of grant descriptions, and asked which ones 'violated' the EO. We didn't read the list, we just killed the list."

UPDATE: Trump says Kushner helped convince him to go to war with Iran The disclosure highlights Kushner's massive financial conflicts.

Maybe it's just me, but I think more people should be talking about the fact that Jared Kushner helped convince Trump to start a war with Iran.

Meanwhile, Kushner's top client, Saudi Arabia, which pays Kushner $25 million+ annually, was also lobbying Trump to start a war.

Trump officials moving onto military bases is a ridiculous, absolutely inappropriate thing, and the NYT story that credulously credited claimed threats as justifying such a move is also ridiculous.

Remember that down the road. They’re setting the strike zone … gonna have to pitch to them around that after the midterms.
