an emulator for old handheld LCD games, implemented in Udon

An anime-styled character stands with a Tesla coil coming out of the top of her head. A long exposure effect causes the arcs from the Tesla coil to almost unify into a solid glow, with the individual tendrils becoming indistinct. The scene is set atop a dimly lit background of a small body of water with trees reflected in it.

luckily it's just 8051 and disassembly went very quickly with the source as a guide
i spent the last few hours reverse engineering freeware in order to implement a simple feature. the source was released at one point, but it's not for the latest binary version, and it requires a proprietary MCU vendor SDK to build which i don't feel like groveling for

hm that doesn't seem too bad, but i'll likely have to abandon my plans to make the board the same footprint as the original (~250x150mm, i imagine i could fit everything in 50x50mm)
although at that size maybe oshpark starts to make sense. we'll see
need to do a proper board for this, but with the current tariff situation i'm afraid to see what a JLC order will cost me lol (and scope creep continues unabated as well - maybe a mic, maybe a temp/humidity sensor, maybe an LDR, ...)
what's the part? looks like atmel? attiny?
working on replacing this sign's controller with my own ESP32-based design. felt mandatory to test bad apple. 80x16, 5bpp grayscale, ~200hz scan rate

we added something new to YTS for the mirror dwellers... #VRChat
It doesn't pass as a _____, and it will never be a real _____. It's an impostor invading our single _______ spaces, the uncanny valley effect of partial passing freaks me out, thus it needs to be stopped, but if I can get any use out if it, I'll extract value first
Sound familiar?
As fruits of my/our labor I am listening to 8khz ulaw jungle
Not that we hadn't done "worse" at my dayjob this year lol
Shouldn't go into too many details but I'm finally finishing up migrating a sizeable portion of my infra. 30+ containers moved, most manually configured although a little bit of docker, complete tailscale ACL refactor, complete backup infra replacement... in a few weeks of work. Cheaper now too...
not that the login requirement is real in any other sense, but that seems like low hanging fruit lol
also embeds bypass the login requirement...
Holy shit lol
