This is such good news for artists.

Now companies would never in their right minds pressure you to use AI because you get to say: "We can do that as long as you don't want to own the stuff you make and ANYONE can use it for ANY reason without paying you for it." and they will NOT like that.

Sortd is following Drag and Gmelius's example and killing their free tier, and I don't use any of the other features they're charging an absurd price for. Kanmail crashes when I try to open attachments.

I have gotten a LOT quieter on socials in recent years and this is a big part of it. And yep, from the fraction of it I've seen, every woman I know in the business deals with far worse, on a daily basis 🙃

If you ever wonder why your favorite artist or show creator etc keeps a distance from fans, doesn't respond to comments, blocks a lot of people, etc., this is why.

Everyone I know who is a woman or minority has had it WAY worse than me, too. It can get extremely unnerving and creepy!

Can't fuckin' believe I'm doing this but here goes: Twitter is a mind prison, a true jail of career advancement. I stopped posting on there and within months I became the CEO of The Onion and I'm not kidding. Went back on last year, felt worse, then left again.

I am starting a studio! We are small and scrappy and have no money. Why am I doing this? Because the only ones who can protect art are the ones who value it. Disney using AI? Yuck. Netflix buying WB? Also yuck. In 10 years what is even going to be left.
