I’m still wondering about that part of it, that’s the craziest part of the stat line
@eyepatchguy
I write stuff and talk about restaurant stories a lot. Also I won’t shut up about the Mongolian Empire. He/him Bylines @ Jezebel, @ Jewish Currents, @ Thrillist, @ Daily Meal, @ FanBuzz, @ FanByte colin.a.pinkham@gmail.com
I’m still wondering about that part of it, that’s the craziest part of the stat line
This isn’t even a knock on him, Bam is a great player because he does everything well and makes his teams and his teammates better but one thing he is demonstrably not is a pure scorer!
If you’d told me someone would drop 83 this season and let me keep naming names until I got it right, he wouldn’t have shown up in the top 50
This was supposed to say “very good all around player” but honestly “a very all around player” is making me laugh far too much to delete and repost
For those wondering what this means, Bam
Adebayo, a very all around player with a single season career high average of 20.4 points per game, somehow dropped 83 points tonight, the second most in nba history
Did he do it against my team? Friends, in your heart you already know the answer
So many people on here are like “the Dems want the republicans to win” and like
No
They don’t
I know it’s easier to believe that than what’s actually happening but I promise you they absolutely are this self-important, utterly blind to reality, and incompetent
The reason I like this so much is that Denethor actually does believe he’s the good guy and that he’s the hero of the story. He is either useless or an obstacle to success at every point in the story but he’s never *actively* trying to help Sauron, he’s just doing it by being an S-tier shithead
I genuinely don’t believe it’s possible to frame the analogy better than this
the reason people sometimes act madder at democrats than republicans when republicans do impossibly evil shit is the same reason why, if you hired an exterminator to handle a roach infestation and he showed up to feed and play with them instead, your first instinct wouldn’t be to yell at the roaches
I do feel like a lot of people even outside of that class don’t know that The Art of War was basically written as A Guide For How to War Good For Especially Stupid Toddlers
Every fourth sentence feels like Sun Tzu was biting back a “, you fucking dipshits” as an addendum
*it was not clear, from my perspective
Certain politicians can do it authentically and others are uh. Hillary Clinton
It was not, from my perspective. I understand that shifting somewhat on certain issues makes sense—although I would still argue that unless it’s done *extremely* carefully (e.g. Obama with marriage equality) it’s a bad tactical idea because “does not believe in things” is electoral poison
Getting out of Afghanistan was one of the only good things he did!
I mean Bolton was doing so openly
Even the GWB admin wasn’t stupid enough to actually attack Iran and they were stupid as shit
I will say that while the previous Dem administrations probably wouldn’t have had a moral problem with attacking Iran or cared overmuch about a school full of murdered kids, they at least wouldnt have been rockfuck stupid enough to actually attack Iran for all the reasons we’re seeing now
And yet this admin cares so deeply about optics that they’ll never agree to that
“We’re not ending this until you agree to never try this shit again” is so obviously the lowest possible bar
Like I would like someone to explain to the class what part of this paragraph is in any way unreasonable
I mean Clinton was charismatic as hell, incredible retail politician, in addition to being a sex criminal monster
Tbf dating Kimberley Guilfoyle is more a symptom of evil than the actual cause of it
I can’t believe this needs to be said but a willingness to sacrifice any principle including opposition to fascism in order to win an election is in fact as bad as being an open fascist
Newsom is my line in the sand and I’m not crossing it. This is where we are. That’s the rubicon I will not cross
I cannot stress enough that there has not been one single solitary time I refused to vote for a Dem in a remotely competitive election. Not one time. The only time I didnt even vote for a Dem in a non competitive election was Corey O’Connor, and that’s because we knew he was gonna win with 80+%!
I simply will not vote for a person who *cannot be trusted to believe in anything*
My dude, you don’t get to act like I’m unwilling to sacrifice things I believe in for the greater good when I have been voting for shithead dem centrists nearly every election (other than the ones where they weren’t running) for literally the entire 23 years of my adult life
Sure! So was Harris. I still voted for her (not really hindsight here). Ambition isn’t the problem; no moral principles beyond ambition is the problem. Gavin Newsom believes in *nothing* other than the pursuit of power of Gavin Newsom
Like if this shit was true I wouldn’t have *repeatedly said I’d vote for Josh Shapiro* despite despising him
No? Every American president commits war crimes and is ultimately a terrible person (with maybe two exceptions). I fully realize there’s no getting around that. But LBJ had sincerely held beliefs, and the domestic ones I mostly genuinely agree with!
Newsom has no beliefs other than his own ambition
