For the global south, I think there is huge opportunity to innovate with SLMs and open weight models. With the correct engineering these models can produce the same outputs as expensive ones. The gap I see is education and accessibility. AI could be a potential equalizer depending on how you see it

This is a great question. I think there are smarter people than me discussing the ethics of AI especially to do with energy. I know MSFT made a commitment to offset the costs of the data centers with renewable energy and subsidizing energy costs for communities they are in.
