Yeah if you use a VPN to make the account or try to use a VOIP number etc it triggers extra KYC as you've discovered like I did back in 2023. See image below from the other place...
We have demonstrated that Play can operate outside the system level as regular sandboxed apps. If OEMs decided to take the same approach and stop bundling Play requiring the license fee then Google lose control of this market. Preventing apps functioning on AOSP devices this way is anti-competitive.
Google whitelists them yet an OS like GrapheneOS which patches things faster and provides better protection on currently supported hardware as well as providing full verified boot etc can't pass Play Integrity checks demonstrating the purpose of PI API as a GMS market protection racket.
Using Play Integrity/Google as the example, they portray PI API as a security feature, yet end.of life devices with no OEM support, lagging on OS version, driver and firmware updates leaving known vulnerabilities exposed can pass and use all apps simply because the OEM pays Googles GMS license fee.
This flag πͺπΊ does not make bad practices that carry this flag πΊπ² any more palatable. People really need to stop the flag shagging, good tech is good tech when it is open auditable and represents freedom regardless of where it originates. The people behind this are funded by those pushing Chat Control.
We strongly oppose the Unified Attestation initiative and call for app developers supporting privacy, security and freedom on mobile to avoid it. Companies selling phones should not be deciding which operating systems people are allowed to use for apps.

May require the web app to be reinstalled, Play Services requires network permission and unrestricted battery exemption to work.
π
Yes just install sandboxed Play Services to enable FCM on Vanadium. No log in or account is required for it to work.
If these people didn't want responses to their asinine hostility and false claims in favour of promoting products using privacy and security as marketing blurb and not technical practice, all they have to do is leave out mentioning us.
We'd rather look after other people from malignant influence.
When what I did, to ensure we could pick up people not on Matrix, Discord, Telegram, forum, was create a BSky Feed to help and assist where they were. This is community outreach.

Some self important, narcissists with delusions of grandeur believe we "lurk" and "search" constantly for mentions of GrapheneOS for 'negatively implied reasons'.
Got a rundown on the limitations it has for you right now?
We love that GrapheneOS has had an impact on making you love your tech more ππ€π

BSky has this feature called Feeds. Don't have to search. 99% of my time and the feed is made up of helping and assisting nice people. Then there's the other 1%.
Everything that's been said here and recently by them has been said before. It's not stopped our growth/development then, it won't now.
Our priority is truth & informing those who value their privacy/security more than misplaced sunk cost.
Everyone akin to saying consumer watchdogs exposing corporate lies, false marketing, monopolistic abuse and whistleblowers, embarrassing employers with evidence of misconduct/fraud etc and declarations of data breaches shouldn't be done because "people make mistakes".
Question any detractors motivations who challenges us on this. Here and on X they've taken an adversarial approach.
GrapheneOS as a project and it's members will NEVER have an issue or refrain from exposing bad security practices, false marketing, lies and neglect toward users by any project, OEM, product or service.
Totally rage baited by someone saying disclosing such negligence is somehow an issue. They'll be complaining that CVE registers are problematic next for revealing issues responsibly disclosed more than 4 weeks ago next. π€¦ββοΈ
Shh don't spoil it ππ
And if that thought makes you happy, content and at peace grab hold of it and embrace it however wrong it is and BANGARANG you might even fly.
The other person posting similarly asinine nonsense blocked me. I'm not hiding fire away.
Do quote posts not count as mentions allowing you to reply?
No it doesn't. Nobody is ever banned from using our OS. We don't know who uses it or hold data etc on any specific user.
Truth hurts...
