Itβs beginning to look a lot like spring!
I used to worry that I didnβt teach my kids enough about how to be good people. Turns out they learn by example.
We all do, even in the workplace. Which tells me:
1. I want to be a good example for the teams I work with.
2. I want to surround myself with people who are a good example for me.
The downside of working in tech and/or running a business is you donβt get to clock out at 5.
Itβs hard to tell our brains to stop doing a thing and ignore it for the next 16 hours.
Hobbies beat scrolling for βre-tuningβ the brain.
The drone definitely makes it easy to switch right now!
Is this something anyone would use?
I built this as part of a side project. Then I realised I could actually do with having a standalone tool like it for some of my clients.
Columns for scenario inputs and columns for expected outputs. This could pretty easily build test suites for REST APIs, GraphQL, databases, etc.

This may well be the best cover of Alice in Chains βNutshellβ Iβve ever heard.
Most try to stick too close to the source and fall short. (Very understandably.)
This has its own thing going on. And that fiddle. Hell yes.

Plenty of lovely places to visit! I really enjoyed recording this one but I didnβt realise there were deer in it until I got it back on the laptop. Even then, I didnβt notice there were 2 deer until later. π¦
Itβs been snowing since new year in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Iβm glad I donβt have anywhere to go!
Iβm a pretty technical person and Iβm finding a quiet and slow life has helped me find more balance.
Maybe #Scotland is the cure to burnout.
No. It was visible, but the camera can see more than I can.
Thereβs a special word in the English language for something like thisβ¦ itβs βholyfuckinshit.β
Fleece lined trousers are great too!
Itβs pretty fantastic out at the moment. Sunny and snowy, but not too cold.
The sun rising over snowy fields in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Nearly time to go back to thinking about work and business.
Iβve talked to a lot of business owners who are all about the hustle. Iβm not one of those. Life is for living, work is for paying for living.
I chose my career for a reason, I love it, but on holidays Iβd rather be out looking at this.
Itβs pretty nice out. Good thing I have nowhere to go this weekend!
Good morning from Aberdeenshire, Scotland!
Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
So, we have great internet in the middle of nowhere, which has made it possible to work from where I want to live.
But when it snows, getting groceries home can become a little less convenientβ¦
The snow arrived and I managed to get some drone time in.
This was a bit of fun. Id been launching from my hand all day, but this time I launched from a flat rock and got this nice flurry of snow during the takeoff. βοΈ
Yeah. I had a drink and didnβt want to go out somewhere else, so just popped out into the garden.
It wasnβt too shabby at all!
We had a different type of fireworks last night.
Happy New Year!
Iβm currently spending it taking a time-lapse of the aurora. Seemed not a bad way to round off a turbulent year.
Looking pretty impressive out there at the moment.
Iβve got the big camera out doing a timelapse. Iβm really hoping that turns out.
Hope everyone is having a great New Yearβs Eve!
Flying over golden fields in the glorious sunshine feels like a good way to wrap up the year.
It's that post holiday clean up time. My office quite often becomes the "hiding place" for many boxes and parcels in the leadup to Christmas.
It's all looking very tidy and fresh now, ready to do some business.
Just need to convince the occupant (me) that it's time to go do some business.
That said, Iβd have used actual caulk if for no reason other than it being a heck of a lot cheaper.
I expect I did some pretty stupid things fixing stuff up in my first few homes that someone later on looked at and thought (and/or said very loudly) βwhat the actual fuck happened hereβ¦..β
I dunno. This is what sold me on the idea when I moved to the UK.
In the US, pigs in a blanket are sausage wrapped in croissant (which is delicious.)
When I moved here and I realised you wrap your pigs in more pig, though. Just wow! π
Woo! I managed to pull off this little rotation relatively smoothly.
Weβre surrounded by lots of countryside, hills and small stone buildings like this. Sometimes it dawns on me that weβve moved somewhere people come for holidays. (Aberdeenshire, Scotland)
