A great day in Enniskillen with @rspbni.bsky.social at the @niscifest.bsky.social event: Landlines telling the story of science. We were joined by the inimitable Nuala O’Toole local story teller to tell the stories of Farmers who have engaged with the #JUSTLANZ research on food and farming systems.

Arranmore Island Co. Donegal reminds me of the bog land at home.

I found a seemingly impossible object in the vast expanse of sedge and sphagnum- a car bumper but no sign of a car!

Happened upon the FΓ©ile RΓ³ise Rua - an incredible ceilidh of people from all places interested in Seann Nos singing.

Three pet lambs two cheviots and one Suffolk

Started lambing on 27th March and the shed now has thinned down to a few stragglers and pet lambs. The Herdwick had gone down with toxaemia at the start of lambing but after calcium dose she has come good and finally had her lamb tonight. That’s the last of my daughters Herdwicks- good mothers.

This weekend I’ve been big walking in bogland and pondering some questions raised in a project I’m part of.

#JUSTLANZ is a multidisciplinary project exploring transition pathways to net zero in food/farming systems.

My latest blog post and pondering is attached.

These bird bowls came out of the kiln yesterday.
Some are going to HavΓΈrn Gallery in Ullapool, and some will go into my online shop or I'll keep them for markets in the Spring.

Landscape format in painterly acrylics. Group of trees where about six dark narrow trunks twist up to a unified clump of dark green foliage blobs, low on the left to tallest on the right. Through the trees behind is bottom of orange mountain sloping down left to right, and behind that in the distance on right is a pale blue pyramidal mountain. Foreground is a boggy brown with green and red details. Sky is big billowing white and blue-white clouds with blue sky peeping through especially in top left. Signed bottom right: Liam Daly

A new day so a new painting for you. Well an old painting but you know what I mean. "Mayo Trees" was painted following a cycle in County Mayo. I'd stopped for a pint in Mulranny (It was raining, like really heavy), then headed north and stopped again - for these trees. #SpeirGorm #ArtAdventCalendar

Performance on Scotland's oldest cello will deliver the right note following restoration The oldest surviving Scottish cello, which once belonged to a fierce opponent of the slave trade, will be brought back to life in a special performance at the University of Aberdeen.

Always interesting to read about other Beatties and this is a particularly fascinating tale of Scotland’s oldest surviving cello
