Birding since 1974 (came through the Glasgow YOC academy π ). Happiest nowadays on the Clyde estuary at Longhaugh Point. Been following Partick Thistle for over 50 years. Married 30 years. Ich spreche auch ein bisschen Deutsch.

Eine Fotze mehr korrekt sein.
Part of a 35 strong flock of Black Tailed Godwits at Longhaugh Point on the Clyde Estuary today #clydebirding
RSPB Baronβs Haugh in Motherwell is undoubtedly the best inland site in the west of Scotland for waders in late summer. This afternoon I enjoyed 156 Lapwing, 8 Common Sand, 6 Green Sand, 2 Blackwits, 1 Greenshank & 1 Curlew plus a Spoonbill #clydebirding #ukbirding
Visited two sites just to the north of Glasgow yesterday. I cannot remember seeing so many small birds for many years. Willow warblers in particular were βeverywhereβ. #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Still 3 of these still hanging around Longhaugh Point on the Clyde estuary today. No sign of any injury. Still havenβt seen a Whitethroat at the site yet this year and only one Sedge Warbler today. #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Some Ringed Plover and Dunlin from Maidens this afternoon. Unfortunately, the Western Sandpiper was not so obliging. #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Recently from Bempton Cliffs #superseabirdsunday
Canβt believe they can go past BBG for 1st team coach.

Part of a flock of 24 Black Tailed Godwit on Longhaugh Point field pools this month at high tide. Also present: 2 Whimbel, 5 Dunlin, 15 Common Tern and 5 Wheatear. #clydebirding #ukbirding
Part of the 170 strong flock of Pinks at Longhaugh Point yesterday. Maybe the last Iβll see of them till the Autumn. Also 1 of 4 Stock Doves, a site year tick. #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Sounds like the British stateβs treatment of Nicola Sturgeon. Maybe without all the tents outside her house though?
1 of 2 Little Ringed Plover present in Renfrewshire this morning. #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Time for a change. Players look uncomfortable in a vain attempt to simply keep the ball. The Greeks had worked us out by the 2nd half in Athens and yet we carried on doing the same thing at Hampden expecting a different outcome. Yesterday we should have played 2 up top and gone much more direct.
Beautiful today at Ardmore Point in Argyle & Bute (just). Highlights were 4 Black Guillemot, 1 Black necked Grebe in summer plumage, 8 Great Crested Grebe, 6 Red breasted Merganser, 15 Red Throated Diver & 8 Slavonian Grebe #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Red necked grebe this morning at Hogganfield Loch, Glasgow #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Grey Plover & Bar Tailed Godwit at Aberlady Bay on Saturday #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Great article Derek.
Pic from a few years ago.
80 Pochard on Woodend Loch, Coatbridge this afternoon represented a good count for the Glasgow area these days. The drake Ring Necked Duck was also still present #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Adult Ring Billed Gull at Strathclyde Park this afternoon. #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Always found this area very unwelcoming to visitors and right on cue today harassed by a farmer for simply walking up a tarmac road near Jawcraig farm whilst looking for these geese.
23 Taiga Bean Geese near Slamannan this afternoon and the drake Smew at nearby Broadwood Loch #scottishbirding
Gadwalls at Caerlaverock WWT today #scottishbirding #ukbirding
I couldnβt stand the right wing propaganda on X any longer and so deleted it 6 weeks ago. Great to now see many things I was interested in coming across to BS.
My first visit to Longhaugh Point on the Clyde Estuary post storm. Very quiet bird wise and disappointing to see the damage done to several mature trees on the site. #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Very quiet on my Longhaugh patch this month so had time to nip over the Erskine Bridge to see the American Wigeon at Newshot Island. Not realising that the camera was on shutter priority mode rather than of aperture priority mode made for an even worse photo than normal. #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Good day in South Ayrshire today with PB Brent, Eider, RB Merg, GN Diver, RT Diver, Razorbill, L Stint, G Plover, Purp Sand to name a few #scottishbirding #ukbirding
Male Hen Harrier a few minutes ago at Longhaugh Point. Back of camera shot.
Aye, βalmost Β£300mβ spent by Reporting Scotland on βwhereβs the ferriesβ stories.
