Yet another contribution towards a hopeful future and more hopeful present. I love us β¨
I enjoyed reading the proposals and responding.
My vote is a hybrid model.
Strictly machine learning is problematic, but having been in the trenches with building indie moderation systems, there are real issue with people only moderation at scale.
It's going to be a lil crunchy figuring out actual application, but that's just the process.
The Blacksky skyline is my favorite corner of the Internet. This vote is a big deal! Please read through the proposal and vote. Full transparency Iβm currently a volunteer moderator and that human only option ainβt it in my opinion. Love yall π«ΆπΎ
I'm really REALLY impressed by how quickly user concerns are addressed, up to and including putting the vote behind a gate once the concern was raised by community members. @rude1.blacksky.team yall fr did that tysm

what content moderation does to a man
PDS is 10K active accounts after killing about 20K bots
Feed is 250K MAU
no numbers on @moderation.blacksky.app users
probably get more app users by just having an iOS and Android app that can send push notifications.
It's already React Native/Expo (fork of the Bluesky social app) so it compiles natively to both platforms. The work is mostly build config, advising on app store submission, and platform-specific polish (push notifications, deep links, etc.)
quotes disabled but yes, someone could make @xblock.aendra.dev but for videos
"After outages, Amazon to make senior engineers sign off on AI-assisted changes"
*AFTER*? What else will the public have to beta test as we finally understand that it's humans *alongside* machines, just like every tool in history.

Not sure yet but our app has ~800 DAU right now and that's negligible
obviously eager to see how things scale
More controversy. Will assume this means "Rap Artist".
In an unordered list:
- Hov
- 50
- Kendrick
- Future (so fight me, so fight me, okay then.)
- Vince Staples
I'm answering these quickly but I am suggesting both
block trackers, use a vpn, wipe your data from the net, etc.
I think people overuse terms like 'censorship' and 'policing' when talking about online spaces. I think there have to be other ways to protect kids than doxxing the entire internet. I also think it's weird to ban kids outright from using the internet.
Seems like overcorrection all around.
I tell people I'd rather swallow blood than swallow my pride
same goes for our brand of ethics, transparency, and accountability.
I'd rather the company die 100 times than change that. But we're also not the bookclub types.
Most important thing with us is to really get in the field with us.
somehow knew This would be the controversial take
I'm a product of my environment, for better and worse
Something I believe in from an InfoCivics perspective
don't think it'd ever move the needle on adoption so it wasn't missed
We're getting ready for @sxsw.com!
@rabble.nz will be joined by @bridgettodd.bsky.social and @rude1.blacksky.team for an hour-long conversation about how creators can claim back agency and control from social media platforms.
