At a #PABudget hearing, I asked PennDOT Sec. Mike Carroll about ignition interlock devices, public transit funding, and a clerical error impacting thousands of Allegheny County drivers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yX-w...

At a House Appropriatons #PABudget hearing, I asked the Public Utility Commission how they’re making the consumer complaint process more accessible for Pennsylvanians who cannot access an attorney. youtu.be/XzSZU8tKd7M
Everyone deserves a fair chance to resolve problems with their utility provider, even if they can’t afford a lawyer.
As Trump continues to signal a desire to nationalize elections, I asked the @padeptstate.bsky.social how they are working to ensure our elections remain under state control at a House Appropriations #PABudget hearing. youtu.be/FP7I4FdIbxg
Free and fair elections depend on states maintaining control over how their elections are run.

Grant funding is a process that must be transparent and fair. All entities involved deserve a grievance reporting mechanism in this process, and the current reporting system is not sufficient. I asked @pahumanservices.bsky.social how they are working to change that. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Jhc...
To combat fraud & card skimming, many states are adding chip technology for EBT cards – PA is not one of them. During a #PABudget hearing, I asked @pahumanservices.bsky.social why the 2026–27 budget proposal doesn't include funding to enhance security for EBT cards. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiJh...
Why are rape crisis centers flat-funded in the 2026-27 #PABudget proposal? The need is certainly not flat. I asked @pahumanservices.bsky.social why that's being proposed. I will always stand up for survivors of sexual violence & advocate for resources to support them. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaiM...

At a PA House Appropriations budget hearing with PA Department of Education, I asked for clarity on proposed cyber charter reforms, highlighted how the “excess spending factor” should apply to districts like Northgate, and raised concerns about flat funding for libraries. youtu.be/4JPquNwdUjo
Strong public schools start with a fair funding formula in the #PABudget. We still have a lot of work to do, especially around cyber charter school funding.
All workers deserve dignity, safety, and support. At a #PABudget hearing, I asked how PA Labor and Industry is supporting young adults and returning citizens through mentorship, workers amid increased immigration enforcement, and paid family leave for all.

During a @PA_HouseApprops #PABudget hearing, I asked Justices Dougherty and Brobson if the court would consider expanding virtual options for these individuals, as well as how the court would react if the legislature expanded the right to counsel. youtu.be/Vu-K_N87gVM
Access to justice should not be impacted by a person’s immigration status, yet federal immigration enforcement has targeted individuals, even those lawfully in the US, when they are due in court. This not only impacts defendants, but also witnesses and victims.
As Trump’s Department of Homeland Security plans two ICE facilities in Pennsylvania, I asked @pennsylvaniadep.bsky.social how they can protect residents’ health, safety, and water access. Tremont’s water system is already under severe stress and this would make it much worse. youtu.be/vv1RP4cU238
During a PA House Appropriations Committee #PABudget hearing, I pressed AG Dave Sunday on a troubling argument from his office that overlooked physical and mental health harms faced by people who cannot access abortion care.
Women who are denied wanted abortions experience greater health consequences than those who can access abortion care, especially given Pennsylvania's high rates of maternal mortality. youtu.be/pGOviGy4oRU
I was very disturbed by their denial that it is used at all when I have toured RHUs and witnessed it with my own eyes. Meaningful reform requires honest dialogue.
During a #PABudget hearing, I attempted to discuss with the PA Dept. of Corrections reform of the use of solitary confinement in our SCI facilities' restricted housing units. youtu.be/hgZp4v_cmIg
During a #PABudget hearing, I spoke with the PA Dept. of Corrections about the success of the Little Scandinavia project and am excited at its expansion beyond SCI Chester due to the positive impact on both inmates and corrections officers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI4s...

In 2007, Cheryl Lynn Allen became the first African American woman to be elected to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. Judge Allen retired from the bench in 2015. She is a founding member of Women Without Walls and a former board member of Child Watch and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). In 2015, Judge Allen received the prestigious Geneva College Serving Leader Award.
⚖️ Cheryl Lynn Allen’s leadership on the bench and beyond helped open doors for greater representation in Pennsylvania’s justice system. #BlackHistoryMonth
Funding for first responders is an essential piece of the #PABudget – I asked PEMA how they are closing emergency preparedness gaps left in Trump’s wake, and the state Fire Commissioner how they are supporting local fire department mergers.
youtu.be/LnC6SegdaDU
I asked Commissioner Michael Humphreys about the Governor's plan to lower prescription drug costs in the #PABudget, how it intersects with my legislation, HB 2226, addressing copay accumulator policies, and enforcing the new PBM reforms championed by the #PAHouse. youtu.be/2J2woqBj2Lw
I also asked why the governor’s 2026-27 #PABudget proposal flat funds food insecurity programs when food insecurity continues to get worse and anti-hunger programs are being slashed at the federal level. youtu.be/WC1lmNNuqOA
The Department of Agriculture isn't just about our farmers but also about our food, so I asked Sec. Russell Redding how they’re helping PA farmers fight avian influenza.
