tldr: it directs the LLM to extract data from real papers and rank them, but it still may make citation mistakes (more rarely than current commercial options available) and it can't separate good papers from bad papers. Also, only feeds on non-paywalled papers.

It's not unheard of to find errors in your data after publishing it. While it's not fun when this happens, this one-pager can help guide you through the process of updating data, code, and publications when errors are found.

As Science reports, arXiv added an endorsement requirement for first-time posters to curb AI submissions. COS Exec Director Brian Nosek says it's "a reasonable approach," but for smaller servers, this could exclude real researchers who lack strong connections:

Comparing registrations to published papers is essential to research integrity - and almost no one does it routinely because it's slow, messy, and time-demanding.
RegCheck was built to help make this process easier.
Today, we launch RegCheck V2.

"If we continue to prize speed and novelty above rigor, then AI will supercharge our worst instincts. If instead we reward careful verification, openness, and humility, then AI could become a tool not of deception but of deeper discovery." ai.nejm.org/doi/full/10....
"Generative AI makes it trivial to produce convincing scientific fakery. Cryptographic verification infrastructure may help, but it is no panacea. Trust and reputation can only go so far before devolving into insularity. What remains is the hard work of culture and incentives. [...]

First MEP report.
Medical research often uses non-parametric tests. We looked, and noticed that small-sample rank-based tests (i.e. M-W, Wilcoxon) have significant granularity... like p-values!
So, here's GRIM for U values -- GRIM-U.
Enjoy.
