They couldn’t get to most of the questions, but I liked that they had a live Q&A feed where you could see everyone else else’s questions and people could ask them anonymously. Some got a little bit 🌢️

YA: "If you ask Americans if they want an apartment building next to them, they'll say now. But if you poll the same Americans an ask if you want to live in a town where young families can live, where workers can live, they want all those too."

Emphasis on better angels as *better angles*.

"I'm hopeful, because things have gotten really bad. This room would not be this crowded if it was going well."

Tells stories of personal housing, from a 150sq foot apartment right after graduation to the way his current home is hostile to the ADA and won't be a place to safely age.

History of Chinese Laundry in California as meeting a need (Californians would not do laundry) and the laundries by necessity proximity would mean racial integration in meighborhoods. Modesto Whites, having tried mob
violence and arson to drive them out, invented zoning as the mechanism of exclusion

And yes, I could’ve saved a step by taking a pic with the iPad itself but I’m a millennial and allergic to iPad photography, that shit is for zooms only

Millennial Parenthood is getting couch locked while the baby naps on you, picking up your journal to see what to-do list items can get done by phone or iPad from your seat, realizing you forgot a pen, taking a picture of the to-do list with your phone, and airdropping annotating it with your iPad

Lots of buzz online about an upcoming major March heatwave for the American SW & California. And in this case, it does indeed appear increasingly likely than an extremely anomalous and even record-breaking heatwave may envelop much of the SW about a week from now.

I do appreciate that he told us the guy getting arrested in unmarked cars out front wasn’t ICE (it was BCSO) but gosh I am so tired of us allowing cars to be unsafe with lackluster solutions because heaven forbid we let the traffic get a tiny bit worse in a city that barely has traffic for its size

The meeting with Mayor Keller was about the Lead and Coal safety study and it was just remarkably disappointing. A study I remember responding to when I was having contractions with my now 14 month old with only 200 respondents, appeasing make cars go fast over human safety…it was all messy

It does mean I won’t be using my headphones until I figure out how to sanitize that thingie but honestly, what a way to turn around my luck today πŸ€

Lost the little ear squishy thing on my headphones on the way to my class earlier somewhere between home, bus stop, bus, and class and it turns out, the same driver picked me up to go to my next destination and there it was! Such kindness from the Great Material Continuum in the least Ferengi way

Always a good therapy session when you have to include a significant amount of backstory about zoning ordinances and how you derive your urbanist thinking as necessary lore
