I don't deny that dogs can sometimes be quite lovely but what I will say is I don't trust their opinions. If a cat recommended me an album it had bought, I'd totally check it out. If a dog did the same, I'd promise to listen to the album, out of politeness, with no intention of actually doing so

Good words of warning here. AI models are generally designed to read and incorporate (and, in a sense, believe) virtually everything they find online, with very few guardrails. The information can get divorced from its original source, context, & rebuttals or retractions. That's a really big problem

As smart devices multiply, so do fears over digital surveillance We are living in a time of extreme self surveillance. We carry with us devices that capture our every location, info about our health, and data about our private lives. This information can be saved, ...

β€œIn his new book Your Data Will Be Used Against You: Policing in the Age of Self-Surveillance, George Washington University law professor Andrew Guthrie Ferguson warns that digital life is creating a form of self-surveillance far beyond what constitutional law was built to handle.”

Worth forever reiterating that most of the "long" novels of the 19th century were not received as long at the time, but generally as subdivided shorter works, sometimes something we would consider more like a comic book than a terrifying doorstop.

There’s a reason rational basis review is infamously β€œtantamount to no review at all.”

And why it’s a fucking atrocious standard to apply to actions which clearly and explicitly discriminate against a marginalized group.

As soon as the House gavels back in, Democrats should force a vote on the impeachment of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth for this and so many other reasons.

The House can stop this illegal war from killing more children.

After all these years, I finally won a teaching award! For my dedication to accessibility and Universal Design for Learning 😊
I can thank my students and my son, who has ADHD for helping me to be a better advocate for accessibility ❀️

These days I have a ton of things to smile about. I feel like an adult again. I hope by reading this book, you or someone you care about will see that there will be things for you to smile about, even small things, as you work to recover from a TBI or another disability.

This is Justin Fox, a DOGE bro Musk sent in to dismantle agencies and wreck lives. Careers erased. Futures shattered. Public servants cast aside. And beyond us, the people our work sustained, patients on HIV medicine, mothers relying on nutrition programs, were left to die.

Iran has officially pulled out of the World Cup, stating that conditions in the US are not safe for players or fans.

More countries must follow suit.

The US will only respond to public pressure and financial retaliation.

Boycott the World Cup.

Boycott the Olympics.

Boycott America.

Supervillain monologue where it very gradually becomes clear that the science facts they're dramatically declaiming don't actually have anything to do with their current evil scheme and they're just taking advantage of a captive audience to rattle on about things that interest them.

Disabled rights and accessibility were not simply bestowed upon disabled people.

These rights came as the result of sit-ins where disabled people sacrificed their comfort and medical needs, years of activism, and disabled people literally crawling up the steps to the Capitol Building in 1990.

Grammarly Is Facing a Class Action Lawsuit Over Its AI β€˜Expert Review’ Feature The feature, which Grammarly shut down Wednesday, presented editing suggestions as if they came from established authors and academicsβ€”without their consent.

I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.

State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

I have Ikebana class this saturday

when I rsvp'd for it, I told sensei that I was looking forward to trying tall vase again.

she told me that she's glad I am not giving up and that she is going to bring a glass vase so that I can see how it is constructed and I love accessibility!!
