I was today years old when I learned that Manos, the platforming video game, exists. Did I buy it? Absolutely.
Just beat Final Fantasy II Pixel Remaster. Final boss fight took 45-ish minutes and my shoulder is killing me. I paused about 40 minutes in to look up what the mfer was weak to. Then spent the next few minutes shouting “You mean I could have used this weapon all along?!”
Post-breakfast cat coma.
Weirdness like this is why I love jrpgs.
I’m playing Final Fantasy (pixel remaster) for the first time and this game is delightful. It would have blown my Atari 2600 mind back in the day. Right now, it’s a lovely distraction from life nonsense.

I had never played a Legend Of Heroes game before Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter (2025 remake). Me now:
Just finished Season 2 of Peacemaker and John Cena deserves an Emmy. I continue to marvel at just how good he is as an actor and the journey he has taken this character on. Also props to the entire cast and the writers and just everyone involved with this show.

Something about the expeditions searching for a Northwest Passage feel more like follies to me and that adds a dimension of tragedy to the insanity.
In the Kingdom of Ice is great. I also really liked Labyrinth of Ice by Buddy Levy about the Greeley expedition.
I went through a phase of listening to audiobooks about doomed polar expeditions and every single one was just bonkers.
What I want to say to pretty much everyone in Congress trading memes while people are hurting from this shutdown and programs being gutted for the last several months.
