I loved this book. Ironically my family emigrated from the UK to this area before coming to the US. So was more interesting for me than your average person I would imagine.

There were several years that I didn’t read in the regular. I got sucked into gaming. That eventually bored me. I started reading Otomes and got irritated at the story choices. I said I can just go back to reading and get better stories, and been voraciously reading ever since.

They probably had the inclination prior. Not quite unknown or in secret, just unconsummated. Book could be a catalyst.
