Aaargh! Was mopping the floor at work and have just come up with an amazing idea for a YA Horror novel. Why does this happen when I can’t just sit down and get my ideas out on to ‘paper’? Can someone pop in and take over so I can go and write?

I managed to do some writing today. Despite the ‘help’ from my mini-editor, cuddle-demander and Chief Motivation Officer I managed just over 3k words. I also managed to sort out a major plot dead end so it’s safe to say I’m well chuffed.

Finally finished the odds and sods blanket. Lots of my late Nannie’s and my mums ends of yarn used up. I think I now need to start collecting other people’s odds and ends as I love this end result. #crochet

After a break over what was a difficult Christmas period I was reading back on my manuscript to see what I needed to do next. Halfway through one chapter I found my highly descriptive and helpful prompt for a missing scene. #author #writingcommunity #neilbailey

My first ever photoshoot with Lara at @poppyproductionslimited getting headshots for my author photo. Great fun and was well looked after.

Overall 4 query rejections this week. Two for the kids novel and two for the metafictional horror. Last night I sent off another query for each. Rather than send off batches, I’ve decided to do a one in one out style. Let’s see how it goes.
