we always say that we have to fight to preserve women's/gender/feminism studies to fully protect and expand women's rights, and yeah, that's correct, we do.
but I have to say, the modern right wing also runs an absolutely top-notch school of hard knocks on the topic. PhD level stuff.
every few years one of these pieces comes out about the women of the right wing and their paths to disillusionment, and I'd just like to say to the publishers, as one of those woke, women's studies feminist warrior types:

This, to me, is the root of it: the left is always going to be more stuffy, constrained and dogmatic because *the left believes that oppression exists and matters.* This is a turnoff to a certain sort of person who does not wish to believe this. But reality wins eventually.
TL;DR: it'll still be a total shitshow, but we get out of this and into the next administration without a substantive international or domestic gun war, IMO.

well, if it helps, the world wars IMO were more about Europe (and Japan) just having a reeeeeal tough time transitioning away from empire and into modern liberal democracy. which is what you were alluding to, about the working class desiring a big ol realignment
relative lack of finreg was part of what shortened the realignment period then compared to now IMO. more financial panics/economic crises = more voters big mad enough to change their habits
