A blossom of protea cynaroides (Königsprotea). On the outside rhete are dark pink blossom leaves then more on the inside yellow and white in the middle. The blossom is about 10cm in diameter.

Gustav Klimt Seated Young Girl 1894 Oil on wood A small-scale portrait of a girl from the Leopold Museum is likely created in 1894. Gustav Klimt imitated the characteristics of photography with remarkable precision. In this extremely small format, Klimt impressed with his rendering’s high degree of realism which he masterfully celebrated with a miniature-like manner of painting. The artist captured the girl’s animated expression through tiny details that are hardly visible to the naked eye, and applied himself with great dedication to the sensual rendering of her lustrous silk dress.

Yesterday again a short visit to the Leopold Museum in Vienna.
That one painting below by Gustav Klimt always haunts me.
It's really tiny, about 14×10 cm, but the details are just amazing.
