Last night a film about young Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan free on SBS if you're in Australia. Fascinating biopic set in early 20th century about the struggles of an intuitive genius having to struggle with the pomposity and racism of Cambridge University.

R.I.P. Joseph “Country Joe” McDonald, frontman of counterculture folk-rock icons Country Joe And The Fish. He wrote the Berkeley band’s most enduring songs including the Vietnam War protest anthem “I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-To-Die Rag” and “Not So Sweet Martha Lorraine,” a Hot 100 hit. McDonald was 84.

He was a founding member of Throbbing Gristle and performance artist. He cut up and re-sculpted his body to become pandrogyne with his partner Lady Jaye. Cosey Fanni Tutti founded the excellent industrial band XTG with the remaining members. Pardon the pun.
Interesting to hear the young Genesis P-Orridge on Art as he lived it then and went on to live it that way until his death.
