I love a good old fashioned "coin toss" or "drawing of lots"; reminds me of the "Coin Toss of Destiny" way back in the year 2000 when Canada and South Korea level on all stats at the 2000 Concacaf Gold Cup settled who moved to the knockout rd via coin toss in a tent. Canada won and won the Gold Cup!

Iβm not entirely opposed to not bringing certain players to try out other players for invitational competition. That said I am opposed to trying out those newer with the program players out of position, like we largely did with DB Pridham.

I'm hopeful that DB Pridham will get the full 90 v Argentina, and be played up the middle as an out and out striker. What's the sense in calling her up to see how she fares only to play her out of position for a half against Colombia and again for some garbage time mins against the US?

We're going to do what we often do, play scrappy well drilled defense and lose admirably by the odd goal.

A thought re: that American goal. This is why as an attacker you take shots in the opposition box, sometimes when you do, good things happen. Cloe Lacasse wanted the perfect shot for Canada (before dibbling backwards out of the box) a few mins before the US's Ally Sentnor just took what was there.

This is absurd; and goes to show HOW out of touch the Prime Minister of the UK is to think that this is remotely true. The call about WHY Labour lost to the Greenβs is actually coming from INSIDE the Labour house.

Referee in this Dublin Derby is letting Shamrock Rovers get away with everything after booking Bohs Dawson Devoy well early in the match. If it keeps up this way, he might lose control of this match

As we say good bye to these Olympics, I'll be saying "ta ta for now" to Opera Browser which has kept me connected to CBC Gem for the entirety of this Olympics (often in split screen mode). Enjoy your hibernation until the 2028 Summer Olympics.

So we finished down six on the projections. That's not great, but we missed in well funded (for us) sports where we also medaled, speed skating and freestyle skiing. I'm worried that the there/thereabouts sports which need the funding will suffer to try and recoup these unexpected losses in 2030.

This is what I get for imaging a Cross Country Ski event which has a marathon like course instead of laps of a circuit, I forget very important words from my initial thought.

Yes, the last day should always be reserved for long distance sport, marathons in the Summer Games, Cross-Country Ski in the Winter Games. I wonder if it would be possible to do the 50km Cross Country Ski events in a way that they're just not repetitive laps of a circuit?

βNo one wants to see the same nations sweeping the podiumβ says the commentary on CBC for the 2 women Bobsled as Taiwan/Chinese Taipei finish their third run amid commentary crosstalk about standardizing sleds. Iβm sure the nations sweeping the podiums would argue they would like to see it continue.
