Report author here (sorry for tardiness). This is a very legitimate issue, and I'm happy to say that the rates as designed eliminate subsidies from heat pump to non heat pump customers, in either direction!

So if your house has higher heat loss, you'll be generally less comfortable and the unit will switch over the resistance backup heat more readily?
(Planning on reading through Home Comfort book!)
A comparison of Electricity and Natural Gas rates with PG&E, a Northern California utility.
The "spark gap" - the price difference between electricity and natural gas - is one of the biggest challenges in heat pump adoption. While heat pumps use 3-4 times less energy than gas furnaces, higher electricity rates can sometimes offset these efficiency gains. (1/3)
How much sealing/insulation is needed to electrify the typical (old) single family detached home in New England and the Upper Midwest, and why?

Fucking _maintenance_. Not "build elevators in 2/3rds of #nymta stations that lack them," but maintenance... bc 10% of existing one don't work on any given day.
Shameful. There are no excuses. Do better
@mta.info!
(And thank you to @riseandresist.bsky.social for mobilizing on this absurd issue.)
Speaking of failings of blue state governance: just helped a struggling mom get her stroller down subway stairs, she was dangerously close to losing control. Elevator was out. Upon leaving the station, ran into protest outside of @mta.info's HQ. Their chant: "what do we want? elevator maintenance!"

Another year or three and renewables will meet 100% of additional power demand. And then they will keep going from there. The trope that new energy technologies are only ever additive will take some time to die, but die it will - as all pseudo-scientific cargo cults eventually do.
Have you tried asking?
I definitely had to google that... which outs me as being only middlingly online.
Cool! Tell us more =)
