The US has burned through over 1,000 Patriot interceptors ($4 million each) to stop an onslaught of Iranian drones ($20k to $50k each).
Using my last gift link from Bloomberg, which is doing some of the best reporting anywhere on the war.

Benny Johnson gives Rand Paul an open mic to make the case against Trump's war-mongering and fiscal irresponsibility.
(this is an extremely rare thing on Johnson's show, which is as safe of a space as there is for Trumpers)
These are designed for 5-7 years and we just burn them up in our atmosphere. An environmental review is absolutely needed.
80 million EVs are on the road globally. Thatβs already displacing roughly ~2 million barrels of oil every day β about 2% of global demand.
Roughly the oil consumption of Italy or South Korea⦠gone.

I've never had a Stayman. I'll have to try. Trying different apple varieties is one of my favorite things.
The Cosmic Crisp apple is better than they Honey Crisp.
No one owns the sun. No one owns the wind. As soon as we can move away from fossil fuels everyone's lives will be better.
You didnt say Grok was your favorite so we're all good. I would've been very judgmental if you did π
I'm honestly worried about where its all going, but these are truly powerful tools.
I'm basically inverse of you. Spent months with Claude and only hours with Gemini. I do know, they are the only two I use. If someone says they use Grok, I dont take them as a serious person.
I do love a good map so Google Earth with Gemini sounds like fun.
Fair. Claude is first for me bc of Claude code. It has been tested and rated the highest by various outlets. I'm biased against ChatGPT from the early days and all its hallucinations.
Claude seems to be trying the hardest with safety. See Pentagon spat.
Give it 6 months as things change so fast.
I use Claude and Gemini but only pay for Claude. It is by far the best.
He's always been cool π
Paris might be one of the most important classrooms for urbanists right now. π²
In 5 years, it climbed the Copenhagenize Index faster than any other city. Here Stein Van Oosteren, urban mobility writer, shares why Paris is so interesting from an urban mobility standpoint.

Good morning with good news: EV battery recycling surges from today's $2.5 billion market to a $70 billion market by 2040.
EU requires in 2030 that 70% of EV battery lithium be recycled.
RMI finds EV batteries could be made from 100% recycled materials.

I have my S24 go to gray scale from 10 pm to 7 am. It definitely helps me be less interested.
Same, cut down mostly on red meat and adopted more grains, legumes, and other plant based proteins. Pretty much have given up pork. Dairy is still my Achilles with cheese being the main culprit. I'm optimistic that alternative methods for dairy is coming.

It's bad that more than a third of the population of the US are terrible people.
US cattle herds down to 1950s levels due mainly to ongoing persistent droughts. In Canada, herd sizes are down for similar reason.
So climate-change induced droughts have driven up beef prices by 15% or more, but carbon regulation is the problem?

Love this. Rather than allowing Trump/MAGA to flood the zone with hateful agitprop, Democrats need to speak up regularly and forcefully, "We will defend you and your communities from this absolute madness." "We need more immigrants, not fewer." "ICE is bad and immigration is good."
