Hey attacking me about my posts when teams sign prospects 2, 3 and now 4 classes in to the future isn’t going to stop teams from signing these players..
If when these deals are agreed upon they were binding in some way that would be something, but they can be pulled at anytime for any reason . When families take out loans against an expected bonus you have another issue . One time Mets 2026 IFA “signing”Josue Chacoa’s family did just this .

They aren’t illegal , illegal implies punishment if caught, MLB makes them register , and investigates for age/identity falsification .
Yep , every team has a player or players signed for 2028 , 2029 some teams have 2030 , and as we see one team has 2031.. Yankees are finding out it’s hard to spend $4M when the good players are gone already in the 2026 class
It’s a crazy process , MLB could have stopped this at any point , but they don’t want to
Look up and down MLB rosters , if you don’t participate in the IFA Market you mine as well not bother trying to make the playoffs
Orioles did this for yrs , never spent in the IFA Market , Orioles now are one of the most aggressive teams.
To make one last point , This is actually a low offer for a prospect this far out .. to put it in context Elian Pena signed with the Mets for $5M 3+ yrs out ..
By the way this offer comes with no guarantees.. One or two things will happen , he will almost guaranteed to get more or less then this amount .. If he develops in to a better player he will ask for more . If he doesn’t develop the team will walk away from the deal ..
