I spent this NYE adding a local GPT server to my homelab in this sweet retro-inspired case with pc parts I had after an upgrade. Galactus is pleased I have no reason to use OpenAI at all now.

Okay, I just played a bunch of Time Pilot and Time Pilot ‘84! Both are awesome and I love the sci-fi of ‘84! I think that one is a little harder but way more fun than the couple levels of the first one I played. Definitely stoked on this recommendation, even if it wasn’t intentional 😂

Forgot about the "limping" mode. If you run out of fuel you'll be limited on your max thrust so you'll have to move slowly and build up inertia to try to make it to a station before your oxygen depletes. All the while you have to listen to your pilot suffocate until you get to a station.

- Warzones! Not shown in the video but choose a faction to help from a mission board and help your chosen faction gain control of key locations in the system. Pick your side wisely.

- Comms systems: If the player attacks a random NPC or if an NPC shows up and is hostile to the player, they will talk trash to the player. So far I have a JSON of 100 hostile lines of trash talk. This also works for bounty hunt missions and is being incorporated into the new encounter types.

-Station Mission Board generation: I've created a bunch of mission templates. Each board will generate a a countless dumber of different missions depending on the location, controlling faction, that stations different faction standings, and the players relationships with the various standings.

- NPC system that generates ships of all factions. Depending on the players relationship with the faction, they'll fly by or attack on sight. Get too poor of a relationship with them and they may just put a bounty on your head. Still working on adding different types of NPCs and encounters

- Fully functioning faction reputation system. There are 20 stations and 10 factions spread throughout the system with a variety of different flavors and story hooks. All of your actions shape the environment so choose your enemies and allies carefully.
