Oregon Farm Bureau lobbyist testifying against the bill now, but sharing lobbyists with OFB are Oregon Head Start and Oregon PERS Retirees, INC, which is perverse given widespread support among PERS members to divest from fossil fuels.
Fawn Barrie testifying against the bill for the Oregon Liability Reform Coalition also represents the Oregon Wine Council, which faces direct and indirect threats from wildfires, and USAA, which provides insurance to climate-ravaged communities. Climate impacts drive up insurance costs.
The lobbyist who opposed the bill on behalf of Associated Oregon Loggers, Chloe Haller, also lobbies for the OR Assoc. of Hospitals. Worsening air pollution from wildfires and rising temperatures means more respiratory problems, and higher costs for these hospitals and their patients.
