Not by itself. No single atrocity is going to do that. It's going to be the cumulative effect over time. Will the sampling of cars provide an early indication?
Well, the numbers didn't show that. Of course, there are always other factors involved. But, it seems the story is more that, with the constant flood of atrocious actions in the news, even a war is not going to change too much how people feel.
Sampled cars yesterday at @indivisiblehocomd.bsky.social banner drop on Gorman Rd over I-95, MD, to see if there was a "war bump," i.e., increased positive reactions (honking, waving, flashing lights). While sampling, it certainly sounded as the traffic down there was louder and more animated.
