discord screenshot. me: "π³ (image of unity editor window with beat and rest looking like they're about to kiss)" rj: "everyone who thinks they're sisters immediately get murdered"
is2g this happened completely by accident back while i was building out this scene because thats just how the origins of the sprites lined up when I pulled them into the scene and this was rj's response

This week we have a special treat for shmup fans: a rare Guwange interview with character designer Junya Inoue! For fans of Cave's haunting Muromachi-era danmaku, this interview covers it all: the influences, game design, challenges, concept art, characters, and more! shmuplations.com/guwange
this goes beyond game design, really. for example: it's the desire of the Tech Bro to have that one idea that is so incredible, so "disruptive," that they will be venerated simply for having it, and reap all the benefits that actually come from hours and hours of labor from a lesser "other"
I, too, will be at day of the devs, likely next to chi. waddup
rest assured that radirgy swag is not without its own weed references
Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM
if only those were the only possible hits to my productivity

message from anime-style girl in an outstandingly messy room: Sometimes, you get overwhelmed with the fear of hurting others or getting hurt, and it stops you from saying anything. Pretty common, right?

Now that it's out, it may not surprise you to know that I was part of the team to localise this game, just like with Karous! I was on FIRE when translating some of the lines here - hope you enjoy the new English version!

or just refer to years. years are infinitely more useful than gen numbers
I cant think of a more useless and needlessly semantic game discussion-ism than referring to gaming eras in console generation numbers. just say the consoles you're talking about
Something of the Kantian sublime in the way it is impossible to find a camera angle with which to observe the entire Idol of Sonic in Spikeout; a metaphor for the impossibility of one person beholding the totality of the divine work of SEGA, we are each offered only a glimpse of the universal truth.
Miyamoto: When pornography escalates, it eventually crosses into the grotesque. I think the world of "hidden secrets" in games has almost reached that same grotesque level. It's reached a point where it isn't measured by common sense anymore. It's just people getting bored and looking for stronger and stronger stimulation. We've hit a wall. When you're at the point where you have no choice but to go "grotesque," you have to start thinking of new ways to use the medium.
I BETTER SEE THIS SHIGERU MIYAMOTO QUOTE ALONGSIDE HIS OTHER FAMOUS ONES
I donβt want revenge. I want everyone to be free.
its a system of shaky mechanics in a feedback loop holding each other up. ppl decided that unresponsive controls felt more premium. so instead of avoiding things you just parry them. but also to balance the parry your ability to avoid attacks must be curtailed by nerfed movement and enemy tracking
its so cool how the industry has just decided that character controllers should be slow and unresponsive now. it doesnt need to be this way
best blender addon after ucupaint
live service games are crazy "what if sequels were ship-of-theseus'd into existence based on the whims of the comment section"
Sometimes seeing people's takes on older games is like seeing a particularly stupid dog trying to enjoy art and getting startled because it's not a dog treat, as an ideaological position.
still cant believe they named the guy "full frontal"
