Was just reminded that in 2015, my employer allowed me to go to a technical writing conference as long as I worked extra to make up for the time I was "missing."

I wonder if they made their developers make up for the time they missed go to I/O and WWDC.

Do any of you use a hypochlorous acid generator you'd recommend? Force of Nature is the system I've seen most advertised, but I know other generators exist.

I go through it at a pretty fast clip; I'm not concerned about the short shelf life it has when making it at home.

My poor husband can't remember that I don't like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, I think as a defense mechanism.

It is an incredibly boring movie.

I got a whole-ass technical writing degree so that eventually AI could do my job terribly.

Do I know anyone in the York, England, area (admittedly large) who might help me get in touch with the descendant of a pioneering printing technologist? The person in question has a very thin online presence, but I believe would welcome the contact about his family.

Strong reminder: women have not been independent for as long as some folks would like you to believe. We’ve lost rights that we never should have lost.

A, in the thick of the Rose City Yarn Crawl: Are we going to go to Flock Fiber Festival in Seattle in July?

J: Huh.

A: ???

J: Just trying to figure out if we can financially recover by then.

I did not write a paragraph about how The Notebook is not a romance because romances MUST end with a happily ever after (or at least a happy for now).

Please clap.

Part of the reason I've struggled for so long with reading my RSS feed is that it's populated with tech blogs.

It's not that I don't care about the tech industry anymoreβ€”I do, deeply. But I am continually disappointed by the world we have created & the one the oligarchs are foisting upon us.

A screen shot that reads, "Cats are known for their agility and flexibility, which allows them to squeeze through small openings. But just how small of a gap can a cat fit through? Interestingly, cats can usually fit through any opening that is at least twice their width.

"So, if your cat is 10 inches wide, they could potentially squeeze through an opening that is 20 inches wide. Of course, this varies depending on the size and build of the individual cat. Some cats may be able to squeeze through smaller gaps, while others may need a slightly larger opening."

J suspects that this article was produced with AI.

I wonder why?

There is no marketing I'm more susceptible to these days than any company saying they don't use generative AI in their projects. I'm a sitting duck for that promise even if they're selling graham crackers or masking tape.

What if my body decided to be operational instead of constantly breaking?

It's like I'm driving down a quiet, flat residential street and every once in a while glance in the mirror to see part of my bumper laying in the road for no reason.

And it also minimizes the challenges of living with these conditions and increases the stigma surrounding them.

It's so frustrating.

"Horsegirl" by Billie Eilish - Make Some Noise Animated From Make Some Noise's "'Yes And' By Ed Sheeran and Kelly Clarkson" episode fourteen of season two of MAKE SOME NOISE on Dropout! https://www.dropout.tv/ Go get it! Hey gang! I am so pleased with how this came out, which is a good thing because this episode was outstanding and deserves only the highest offerings. But also I forgot how much more effort animating music videos takes compared to regular animation. Oopsies. Hope you enjoy! Hey Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland folks, wondering if I could solicit some ideas?

I’m apartment hunting at the moment, and I’m having to discount a lot of nice wee places in my limited budget as there’s no parking for my motorcycle.

I don’t mean a dedicated carpark, no parking in the building at all.

"I'm kind of OCD about keeping up with my planner."

No, you're not! OCD is a debilitating condition.

You're fastidious. Meticulous. Careful. Regimented, even. You're not "a little OCD."
