Folks on TV say Trump blaming DEI is “inaccurate” & “inappropriate.” Huh? Is that all? What Trump is saying is ugly. It’s racist. He's blaming brown & black people for the crash. He's saying brown & black people aren't qualified. “Inaccurate” doesn't cut it. What Trump is saying is racist & bigoted.
Just to be clear, because the NYT doesn't spell this out in the article: This is clearly an effort to defund, and therefore destroy, our nation's public broadcasters. At a time when the information ecosystem is crumbling under the weight disinformation, this effort could not be more nefarious.
