Steam Next Fest 2026 | Wiped Clean PC - 8Bit/Digi Steam Next Fest 2026 is underway, and I found myself searching the digital depths for a hidden gems like Wiped Clean PC.

Everyone keeps telling me to try these powerwash simulators, but this one is quite haunting. Wiped Clean PC possesses many layers and solid ideas, while also having some big stains on the gameplay. I played the demo, but I still won't do windows. - 8bitdigi.com/steam-next-f...

Best book-to-game adaptations: 8 games based on famous stories Celebrate World Book Day by playing the story! From The Witcher to Sherlock Holmes, discover the best video game adaptations that bring classic novels to life

I wanted to help celebrate World Book Day, so it felt right to talk about games that adapt some excellent works. A couple of these might be surprising; the rest will just be a solid reminder to tackle that backlog of novels or to re-read a classic. - store.epicgames.com/en-US/news/b...

Yeah, I get that. There are places where we get the point with less time, precious minutes that could be added to more important areas. Sure.

Glad I read this one. Next time I come around to King again, maybe I’ll do another Bachman book.

I really dug the movie version of this and recommend it to anyone who isn’t interested in the book. The movie compresses several characters (50 participants instead of 100), but it also adds in the right spots.

it would feel repetitive or boring, and that was not the case. Toward the end, there was a small bit of a lull, but the elements of that part help make the ending stick more. I do like the book’s ending, but I think that’s one aspect the movie did a little bit better.

I thought that with 100+ characters, none of the personalities would shine through, but I was wrong. King is great with large casts and making the reader care in a short time. I was worried with it mostly being a story about walking and counting down the victims,

The story says a lot about war, acceptance, violence, brotherhood, and the importance of sex. Reading it now, alongside current events in the Middle East, with the book's allusions to Vietnam, felt like it hit just a bit closer.

I just finished The Long Walk by Stephen King, or, we can call it my first Richard Bachman book. King talks about that phase like he was writing as a slightly different person, and I kind of get it now. This book has a simple premise, a good dark one.

I get there are bigger/better things that couldn't be done, but I didn't feel like those bits were wasting my time.

08.03.2026 11:01 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Sure, I get the argument. I guess for me, that's fine if it builds the character or expands on their current turmoil. Not saying it did that expertly, say like Breaking Bad figured out how to do, but I feel like it tried. Take the scenes showing how he overthinks/overcomplicates his own roles.

08.03.2026 11:00 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, I think you can get away with that more in a show, but it's hard to justify that in a movie, unless it's for a later payoff, which is not the case here.

I miss that hour already...

Yeah, it has that feel at some points and almost misleads us as far as what is to come with some of the later projects. Makes for a cool feeling rewatching it now.

Yeah, true, but their point was to introduce more characters and expose us to what the future might look like with more participants/cameos in a film like this. I liked her introduction, but you wouldn't have lost much by not revealing her until Avengers.

I understand that, but would argue that some of those moments make the characters more endearing and are nice to see before he gets thrown into a bigger conflict.

Right, and shows what they can do with characters who weren't considered 'top tier' in the comics at the time.

Yeah, that's accurate.

For a show without a lot of action, the episodes are short, and the pacing feels good. Glad they didn't cancel this one, but I'm sure some people won't enjoy it as much.

We also finished Wonder Man (2026), which was quite enjoyable, very different from most of the other shows. It's kind of like if She-Hulk pulled back more and told a focused story, a slice of life for a couple of enjoyable, untraditional characters.

Iron Man 2 (2010) is not one of my favorite MCU films, but I genuinely love the villains. I liked it a lot more this time around, far removed from my first viewing. It isn't near the bottom of my list like it once was, but the excellent parts still don't quite make a strong core.

I liked The Incredible Hulk (2008) a little more than last time, but even though it's because of rights issues, the MCU has convinced me Bruce Banner is a supporting character, not a main star. Hulk is iconic, but his story doesn't do it for me unless it's Bill Bixby.

The wife and I started our Marvel rewatch, and not surprisingly, Iron Man (2008) is still one of my favorite superhero movies, and it continues to feel so charming and enjoyable. It's hard to ask for a much better adventure to build a universe from.

That's awesome that you guys are going through those. Geek and I are doing the Marvel films currently, so maybe we'll do those afterward. That really is an excellent episode. There are just so many great ones in that series.
