That would be ideal, but as the saying goes, There is No Such Thing As A Free Lunch. In ALL countries, there are strings attached. You may not always see them. And depending on who was in charge, the strings changed. But they are always there.

Especially with the abolishment of USAID. They were a primary source of funding for homeless housing and drug centers and shelters. The whole system is a wreck and I think things are going to get really bad before they get better. Portland did the same thing. NIMBY’s suck

Don’t lose hope yet. He’s working to get that 65 million beyond a pledge and into results. Systems take time, it’s been a week and a half since the hospitals capitulated. But it’s very easy to lose heart these days and hold faith. Rubber HAS to meet the road, but I know it won’t be instant

Why should anyone at this point. The “Norms” and “Values”and plain old shame that were supposed to keep things in order are gone. We have grown out of the system and need a new one. That takes gaining control of the current one. Republicans are working on that now.
