What on earth is the point of this if signing up is voluntary ?

Is it illegal for a UK government to break a manifesto promise ?

Labour really needs to pull on the big tax levers (Income tax and VAT) but seemingly tied their hands by saying they wouldn’t put those up in the manifesto ?

But can’t they just say force majeure and do it anyway ??

Sadly I think we are headed the same way… a Labour Party who can’t seem to get much right … )or what they do get right doesn’t get much coverage) , country goes sideways for 4 years and reform get in with a majority …

Just get rid of it , massive vote winner (even though it hardly affects anyone) and add something onto the higher rate of income tax to offset the loss.

IHT should be abolished - not because of the tax or otherwise that it raises but because it is so bloody complicated .

Take a look at the basic form (IHT400) everyone must complete to get probate- its a flipping head spinner - and you have to do this just after a loved one as passed away .

NHS should be allowed to charge for “fast passes”
Rich people can pay to be seen quicker. At competitive rates (compared to private).
But money goes directly to NHS for improvements for everyone instead of being taken by greedy private healthcare.

No one complains when I do this at Alton towers.

Means after a few years - loads more eyes on the roads with the ability to report infractions. Incentivise people to upload footage.
Vastly safer driving will be the result at zero cost to the country

UK should legislate that all new cars are fitted with dashcams (4K front, full HD minimum rear) with sufficient storage and ability to connect to phones.
Footage can already be uploaded to local police portals and people do get prosecuted / fined / points etc so kind of self funding
