I agree that a collection is a reflection of its owner, but I'm not convinced there's any inherent value or merit in that. I agree but I've grown cynical/self-critical over the years re: the argument for physical media as mode of permanent, personal access being terribly divorced from materialism (or consumerism); I own more books/movies than I'll ever have time to revisit, and this just doesn't feel like a virtue to me
