Huh. So it's unclear who's funding this campaign to pay influencers to attack Kat Abughazaleh.

But the guy coordinating also has a company called Advocators AI, which just won an award for work for…Daniel Biss — her opponent.

One of the campaigns the company boasts about promotes trips to Israel.

As someone who went on the Internet for the first time in the early 90’s, I fucking loved the Internet. It has given so many things in life, and afforded me so many incredible experiences.

And to see it, and technology in general where they are today is kinda soul crushing.

the stink of gender resentment coming off Silicon Valley has been obvious for a while. these men hate women because they hate being told no.

This, to me, is the root of it: the left is always going to be more stuffy, constrained and dogmatic because *the left believes that oppression exists and matters.* This is a turnoff to a certain sort of person who does not wish to believe this. But reality wins eventually.

The reason the media are going after Zack Polanski:

His opposition to Israel's genocide & Iran war

The media is not your friend

Thank you so much for the TNC Rival paths; a romance path I can only describe as “charmingly though unrelentingly horny”.

GM Tip: When you don't know a rule mid-game, make a quick call and move on. Look it up between sessions. Stopping play to debate the rules kills momentum. Accuracy matters less than flow.

Angus Taylor described David Littleproud as a “committed Coalitionist”.

Angus, he _left_ the Coalition. Twice. #auspol

That is because they were NOT with the counter, despite Tisch initially describing them as counterprotestors. They ran up and threw an IED, failed to throw another.

Media is saying ISIS with reason: As one was picked up following arrest, he said “By God’s will, the Islamic State remains.”

Screenshot from the video game Persona 4. In the halls of Yasogami High, the protagonist talks to a male student labeled "Stylish student". His dialogue window reads:
"Hanging out with women, going on dates with them, that's fine. Killing them? Not so much."

The March 15, 2025, killing of Ruben Ray Martinez drew almost no public attention.

But Martinez is now the first known American citizen shot to death by federal immigration agents during President Trump’s second term. https://wapo.st/4lbpGYC

It’s cool that this generation gets to find out the answer to “what would you have done when we started interning the Japanese?” and “what would you have done when we invaded Vietnam?” and “what would you have done in Watergate?” all at the same time.

Ive been thinking about how I cannot remember a SINGLE book with a single queer character I read before I was in my 20s.

It took me a L O N G time to come out to myself. I had no representation as a kid for what my sexuality looks like.

This is traumatizing. It's why people need therapy.

I don't think it's self-contradictory to say I believe both 1) I think things would be a lot better right now had Harris won and I wish more people had voted for her, and 2) she didn't run a very good campaign, for many reasons some of which were out of her control but some of which were not

the dumbest form of politics is yelling at voters after you lose. if you lose it is *always* your fault. every confounding factor in the universe is your job to overcome. if you take a position that is unpopular and don't adjust to learning that, you are bad at running for office.

Yours is also a fair point and not one I disagree with either. But that also was, y’know, how it used to be done. Buy the upgrade. Or, if you decide you don’t need it anymore, don’t.

Maybe in the end it doesn’t matter. But I do know I just can’t afford to subscribe to that many Patreons. :(

I feel increasingly that games journalism offered a bunch of very trenchant critiques to this sort of thing happening but made the critical error of issuing the critique and moving on, and not reckoning the reality of what it meant to live alongside this. I include myself in this.

I’m halfway in. ‘Cringe’ is the truest thing ever and I’ve felt this exact same way so many times; genuinely angry at how much exercise works for example.

‘Yes, Samuel R. Delaney, fuck you!’ just made me laugh harder than anything else this week.

Rest as much as you can. This video is good.

my first book (2020) was about online neonazis and my second book (2024) was about christian theocrats. they gained strength, voltronned and became a government. my third book (2027) is going to be a history of notable sandwiches so i hope this means we will be governed by sandwichocracy

It's been pretty disappointing to see the @foundryvtt.bsky.social module scene go all in on software as service. Basically every single module advertised on their discord has the dreaded words 'subscribe on Patreon' at the bottom. I would gladly buy most of these, but I'm not subscribing for them.
